Welcome to the Gemini Full Moon. It’s not only a kick off for eclipse season, but it’s the time in the zodiac calendar when the spotlight is on how we speak and listen, the ideas we have and the choices we make. It’s on travel and education, too. The full moon eclipse is on November 30, 2020 at 4:30 am EST, 8 degrees Gemini/Sagittarius. That’s 1:30 am Los Angeles, 9:30 am London, 8:30 pm Sydney, and 10:30 pm Auckland.

Eclipses are turning points. They represent a change in the story, a twist in the narrative. A metaphor that I often use is that it’s as if a curtain comes down on one act of our life and comes up on another. As you can image, characters have exited the stage while others have stepped in. The set is different, perhaps drastically so.

Eclipses also are part of a greater story, one that arcs over the course of two years. With a lunar eclipse in Sagittarius back in on June 5, the first in this series, we began a story that takes us to May 2022. And since the eclipses will be in Gemini and Sagittarius, we can predict that there will be a story lived through the their archetypical themes.

If Sagittarius Season is a time to turn towards the world, to seek out new adventure, cultivate wisdom, and stand up for our convictions, then Gemini, its opposing sign, is a demand for new ideas and new perspectives. See, the trick around this eclipse season is that the South Node of the Moon is in Sagittarius, which means that we need to make sure we’re not getting stuck in thinking that we have all the answers or that we know the truth.

This Gemini Full Moon wants to open up our eyes. It wants us to think outside the patterns and narrow paths we’ve carved for ourselves. And, as a result, we’re picking up books to read, getting relentlessly curious, taking classes, and weighing our options. We’re starting a manuscript or making sure our voice is heard.

At the heart of Gemini is the knowledge that life is both light and dark. And and the heart of this Gemini Full Moon paired with a Scorpio New Moon two weeks before, is the wisdom (hopefully) to find the balance between them.

Since it’s eclipse season, information may arrive in a dramatic fashion. Ideas may challenge or change the course. With Mercury in Scorpio, we may need to uncover a mystery. Secrets may be revealed. Or we may be compelled to speak on subjects we normally keep quite close.

Mercury also picks up on a supportive sextile from Saturn, so there’s a steady hand somewhere in all of this. Perhaps someone older is offering help. Or someone who is like a mentor can provide guidance if there is any difficulty. But Mars, strong in Aries, holds a lot of the power in this lunar eclipse and we may need to take action, find our will, our courage, and our drive over the coming days.

Just make sure you’re weighing all the options and making smart choices, strategic choices.
