Welcome to the Gemini Full Moon, a time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on all things Gemini — voice, communication, education, and movement. In Gemini we find our curiosity and we learn the power of choice. After all, Gemini is the sign of duality. The full moon is exact on November 27, 2023 at 4:16 am ET, 4 degrees Gemini-Sagittarius. That’s 1:16 am Los Angeles, 9:16 am London, 10:16 am Johannesburg, 2:26 pm New Delhi, 8:16 pm Sydney, and 10:16 pm Auckland.
Full moons are decision points, a time when something demands our attention or has been put in the spotlight. Is it a left or a right, an up or a down? Events may mark a personal milestone.
With Gemini, the sign of the twins, it’s never just one. We need to explore new horizons, try different options, and do our best to compare and contrast. Typically Gemini has a buzzy energy — it’s on the move, it has things to do, places to see.
The Gemini Moon comes after a couple of important points. First, the Scorpio New Moon of November 13. If a seed was planted at that time, the full moon is its fruit, two moments in time inexorably linked. Gemini-Scorpio makes for a natural detective and researcher. As a result, we may be discovering important information, receiving news, or making a discovery under the light of this full moon.
Second, the full moon picks up on the Sagittarius Sun square Saturn in Pisces. Although a few days passed, its energy is brought to the forefront. Gemini’s usual light and playful energy grows serious. And, as a result, we may have a serious decision to make. We may see something that is not working. Or, we have an opportunity to make a commitment and demonstrate our maturity — especially our ability to make mature, sensible choices.
Mercury in Sagittarius makes an exact square Neptune in Pisces, an ethereal or dreamy energy that seems at odds with Saturn’s demand for structure. But another way to look at it is that Mercury and Neptune need to make choices that align with one’s heart and soul, one’s spiritual values, and one’s intuition. It may also be a push for creative decision making.
Life is inherently about duality. Doesn’t Gemini know. Sometimes we have to look at the shadows to better appreciate the light.
