One of the reasons I like to dissect the new and full moons is that they present an energy configuration that we can tap into for maximum effect. As this is the Pisces full moon, we already know that issues of spirit, compassion, music, water, and divinely inspired creativity are at full maximum. (Chart above is set for 8/31/2012, 9:58 am EDT, New York City.) The Virgo/Pisces axis shows the duality between the everyday world (Virgo) and the world outside of this one (Pisces). The key with a full moon is finding the balance between these dualities. How do you serve matter and spirit at the same time? How do you be practical yet compassionate? How do you forgive? How do you love? And with all full moons, this is about seeds planted during the new moon coming to full fruition.
When I tap into this full moon chart, I am immediately drawn to that powerful Neptune/Chiron/Moon conjunction in Pisces with the Sun opposite in Virgo. Wow. While this lunation is a lot subtler than some of the previous ones that weighed heavily Cardinal, it is not to be underestimated.
Mars in Scorpio energizes the configuration with a trine to Neptune/Chiron/Moon, adding a bit of depth to an otherwise woo woo Pisces haze. We’ve been doing a lot of healing work over the last few years and the momentum is still happening. If this Pisces full moon is a lucid dream, how do you want to use that power? How do you want to create your own reality? If any monsters are lurking in the subconscious, what tool are you going to manifest to neutralize them?
Chiron trine Mars has the precision of a surgeon and the presence of the Moon and Neptune means that we have the power to get to the heart of the matter with this full moon. What’s lurking in your subconscious? What dreams (or nightmares) do you keep on having? What is your dream self trying to reveal?
As with a lot of previous lunations, we have yet another yod in this chart. The Sun/Mars sextile is forming a quincunx to Uranus in Aries. A yod in an imperative from the Universe. Deal with this or ELSE! With Sun in Virgo sextile Mars in Scorpio, there’s a knack for purposeful and laser-like organization — there’s an ability to really dig deep like a forensic pathologist. The other end of the yod is Uranus in Aries. It really is YOU not THEM. Stop playing victim and take responsibility for your actions.
We still have that Sun/Pluto trine in affect even though it’s separating. You are cleaning emotional house with this full moon. Use this power wisely. Purge and purify your psyche. Take responsibility for your actions and your creations. Start a dream journal. Meditate. Face your fears lurking in the shadows. Analyze your psyche. Do art therapy. Dance when no one is looking. Aim for optimal emotional health. Forgive your enemies. Forgive yourself.
Venus in Cancer square Saturn in Libra is about facing the hard realities of what we’ve attracted into our lives — the “bad boyfriend”, the people that didn’t nurture us as well as we wished they would, the self worth that keeps us from something better. Again, this is all victim mentality stuff. This is the illusion of Neptune et al being cut away by Mars in Scorpio and stripped bare. There’s real emotional power behind this full moon if we only tap into it. Time to wake up from the dream. Time to step out of the illusion.
