We trade Sagittarius Season for Capricorn this week, the Sun arriving in the 9th sign on December 21 and marking the solstice, one of the four major crossings of the year. It’s the return of the light. Mercury returns to Sagittarius and Venus faces off with Uranus.
A Sagittarius New Moon rechristens the season, motivating us to find meaning and purpose, to seek out new horizons. Mercury turns retrograde, too, a rewind and reevaluation of what’s important that touches on relationships and career.
Venus arrives in Scorpio, Neptune turns direct in Pisces, two changes in tempo for the week that add an emotional energy. We also wrap up the lunar month, making way for a bust of Sagittarius energy next week with the new moon on December 12.
We start the week with a Gemini Full Moon, putting the spotlight on communication, education, and travel. Mercury and Neptune invite us to seek creative solutions. Venus joins the South Node, activating a recent eclipse. Mercury also arrives in Capricorn.
The Sun leaves Scorpio for Sagittarius and we step into the light after a deep inner examination. Mars isn’t far behind, arriving in Sagittarius a couple days later. Both planets meet up with the energies of Saturn in Pisces, a heavy lift as we go into a new season.
A Scorpio New Moon takes us past the eclipses and brings us into something different. We’re still in their theme of relationship and connection. But there’s a darker or a more emotional tone. An opposition to Uranus is a confrontation to reinvent.
Venus arrives in Libra and brings us back to October’s eclipses and their new beginnings. Doors are opening this week. Mercury steps into Sagittarius, too. Scorpio Season gets a jolt as Mars opposes Uranus in Taurus as we close out the lunar month.
We’re stepping out of October’s eclipse season and into November. What a ride it’s been. That said, we’re still experiencing their ripples of fate and change of events. Saturn also turns direct this week in Pisces, a structural marker for the year.
Welcome to Scorpio Season. There’s a chill in the air and the days grow darker. The veil between the worlds grows thin. Scorpio Season also brings us to the conclusion of eclipse season with a dynamic lunar eclipse in Taurus on October 28. Life turns again.
We’re in the space between the eclipses, a two week passage where two chapters of time overlap. It’s a portal for things and even people to come in and out of our lives. Even though eclipse season takes us forward, we’re saying goodbye to Libra this week.
