Welcome to the Capricorn Full Moon, the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on maturity and responsibility, structure and organization, accountability and authority. Ruled by Saturn, Capricorn governs the process of growing up and growing older. The full moon is exact on July 10, 2025 at 4:36pm EDT, 18 degrees Capricorn-Cancer. That’s 1:36pm Los Angeles, 9:36pm London, 10:36 pm Johannesburg, 2:06am New Delhi on July 11, 6:36am Sydney, and 8:36am Auckland.
Full moons are decision points, a time when something is put in full view. The seeds of the new moon two weeks before have come to fruition. Full moons can coincide with events. They can bring a sense of urgency, making very clear what our priorities now are.
When we’re in Cancer Season, we’re never too far away from Capricorn, its complementary sign. Capricorn is the physicality of our lives — the time we live, the different chapters and milestones we navigate, the events that shape and mold us. Cancer is the substance that fills this space — the memories of the past, a sense of connection and belonging, the heart that keeps the beat of our lives.
Cancer and Capricorn are two are the four cardinal signs and the cardinal signs are the four directions. They hold up the sky and, as a result, they are the four pillars of our lives.
Cancer is like the nest and Capricorn pushes us out into the world. And so this full moon is a reminder of the world around us, from the duties and responsibilities that mark our lives to the larger goals and ambitions we are always working towards. Capricorn reminds us that things take time. They also take dedication and commitment.
When we pass on, what will we be remembered by? It’s a strange thing to think of (more Scorpio than Capricorn), but a Capricorn Full Moon can put our lives in sharp focus. What are we trying to build and achieve? Where are we at in that great climb towards our goals and ambitions?
There’s a duality to Capricorn, like all signs. And even as we survey our lives, we can never forget that Cancer is right there alongside Capricorn. Don’t forget what’s truly important. Yes, we can work hard and every Capricorn I’ve known is a hard worker, but hard work without mission or without the people and loved ones who make it matter ends up being a hard legacy.
This full moon also brings us right to Saturn in Aries. As the ruler of Capricorn, Saturn pulls the energy of the full moon over to Aries, where Saturn recently arrived for a three-year residency. (Watch my Saturn in Aries webinar.)
Aries, like Capricorn and Cancer, is a cardinal sign. So this full moon has something to do with the pillars that hold up our lives. There’s Aries and our drive and motivation to take action. There’s Cancer and our home and family. There’s Capricorn and our career as well as a force of maturity and responsibility.
If full moons are decision points, we may be at a crossroads this week, dealing with life or reflecting on our goals and ambitions for the coming years. Saturn is also about to turn retrograde at 1 Aries, so there may be personal events that are part of a larger story that will accompany us while Saturn is in Aries, until February 2028.
Finally, there are two other planets playing a big role in this full moon — Neptune and Jupiter. If Saturn in Aries receives the energy of the full moon, so does Neptune, also in Aries. And Neptune is more of an emotional and spiritual lens to experience Saturn and the full moon through. What we are building our lives around has to be in alignment with our spirit and soul.
As for Jupiter, its lingering square to Saturn means that our lives are at a crossroads and to make sure we stand behind what our lives are built and supported upon.
