Welcome to the Capricorn Full Moon, the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on responsibility as well as moments in life that demand more from us. Capricorn also speaks to the role we play in the world, from our career to the title that comes with it. The full moon will be exact on June 29, 2026, at 7:57 pm ET, 8 degrees Capricorn-Cancer. That’s 4:57 pm Los Angeles, 12:57 am London on June 30, 1:57 am Johannesburg, 5:27 am New Delhi, 9:57 am Sydney, and 11:57 am Auckland.
Full moons are decision points. The seeds that were planted two weeks before at the time of the new moon have come to fruition. Emotions may run high. Full moons can also coincide with events that demand we take action.
Capricorn is the 10th sign of the zodiac, one of the final signs that represents our public life and the roles and titles that we carry. It also represents the long arc of maturity that builds and shapes our lives. As a cardinal sign, Capricorn is one of the four pillars of life. And in the case of Capricorn, a necessary force that pushes us to leave the comforts of home and family in Cancer, the sign opposite of Capricorn, and to forge our way in the world.
When we have a Capricorn Full Moon, our public lives are in the spotlight, and we may feel as though a part of ourselves and our lives is under scrutiny. That’s because Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, the planet of cause and effect and karma. We must be in a greater level of maturity and accountability during a Capricorn Full Moon. Any transgressions may be revealed.
While that may speak to the harder side of Capricorn and Saturn, a Capricorn Full Moon is a wonderful time to take the reins and show our capability. Perhaps we receive a promotion or recognition for our hard work. For some, a Capricorn Full Moon may be a time to demonstrate our expertise. Or show that we have the wisdom of experience to be a mentor and a guide.
If Saturn is the ruling planet of Capricorn, it’s important to find Saturn in the chart of the full moon. Saturn is in Aries, which is to say that Aries is on the receiving end of this full moon. Our maturity and responsibility needs action and leadership. Or, similarly, we may feel as though events in our lives have solidly put responsibility on our shoulders. One of Saturn in Aries’s narratives is to have the courage to stand on our own two feet and find our individuality.
Saturn is also in a square to this full moon, an aspect that can create friction and even put us at a critical crossroads, one where we must rely on our maturity to make the right choice. A square to Neptune in Aries also means that there may be a lot of emotion in the days around the full moon. Events may prompt deeper spiritual and existential questions.
So, ask yourself, what is my relationship with responsibility and commitment? Is there a higher level that I can reach for in my life? What do I want to be when I grow up?
This full moon comes just days before a powerful Mars-Uranus conjunction on July 4. In fact, in the chart of the full moon, we find Mars and Uranus side by side in Gemini, acting as a wild card in this full moon. If Capricorn speaks to responsibility, then Mars and Uranus in Gemini speak to freedom and breakthroughs.
Overall, this is a full moon that talks about our lives and the lives we are building. In order for our lives to grow, we need a solid base, we need dedication and follow through. We also need courage. Mars and Uranus may just be the shake-up we need at this time.
