Saturn’s still calling the shots, which means it’s a week to focus on our goals and what we need to build — or completely restructure — in order to reach those goals. But we’re still working on these deeper existential questions as Jupiter squares off with Neptune.
Jupiter is a planet that helps us make sense of the world, whether through education, travel, religion, or philosophy. It’s right at home in the sign of Sagittarius, where it’s been traveling since November 2018. Normally this would be a time when we’re getting clearer — or at least more curious — about life because we’re actively searching for the answers.
But Jupiter’s been in an awkward square with Neptune while Jupiter’s been in Sagittarius, a square that has eroded at Jupiter’s usual optimistic spirit and confidence. As a result, we may have been questioning what we believe in. We’ve been confused about matters of faith. We’ve not been so sure about what our truth is … or we’ve been disillusioned by what we see in the world.
This week is the last square of the series, which will be exact on Saturday, September 21. How I’ve experienced this, and I share in case it resonates with you as well, as this deeper look at myself and my life. I think the mixture of Saturn turning direct and Jupiter square Neptune has made me reconsider and question my confidence in myself. I’ve also been thinking a lot about the suffering that comes from having an attachment to certain outcomes or life milestones and how lighter I would feel if I released my attachment to these outcomes. It feels freeing and it also feels necessary.
I think we look to astrology to tell us when we’re going to stop suffering or when the thing is going to happen that we put so much hope and expectation on. I’ve certainly done this, too. But what if we released this attachment? Would the suffering be released as well?
Anyway, this is where my mind is circling with all this existential energy this week. But, like I said, Saturn wants us to get real and it wants us to still build for the future. Jupiter and Neptune just wants us to find peace.
