Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio. Something hidden may be revealed. A secret may be discovered. We’re getting to the bottom of a mystery. Over the coming weeks we’re pulling back so we can get a new perspective, making new choices where necessary.

There always was a sense of intrigue surrounding Mercury’s time in Scorpio. If Mercury is the planet of communication, ideas, and information, then Scorpio shows the hidden or emotional side of communication, ideas, and information. It’s deeply psychological and potentially revealing. It talks about the things one doesn’t normally talk about in polite company — secrets, shame, vulnerability, and emotional pain. It has an obsessiveness to it. It gathers information and intelligence. Information becomes currency.

Mercury reminds us that everything is a choice. Over the coming weeks we need to take a second look at our relationship with information and ideas. Are we using Mercury in Scorpio to manipulate and control, to cover something up, or do we need to put something into the light and make the right choice? Does our communication need to be more vulnerable and open?

That said, the Moon’s in Virgo today and we’re officially in the dark of the moon, the last few days before the new moon when the lunar light is at its faintest. This is typically a time when we’re wrapping up instead of starting anything new. The Moon also plays off of Mercury’s opposition to Uranus, so we could be receiving unexpected news over the coming days, something that illuminates, confronts, or awakens.

If you missed my weekly astrology video for October 12-18, 2020, you can watch the replay on YouTube, IGTV, or listen on Spotify.

I’m also involved with a project called Cosmos, Crystals, and Cabernet. I met Heather Rader, owner of Spirit Horse Vineyards in Napa Valley, California, at a networking event earlier this year. We thought, wouldn’t it be cool to do a wine tasting with astrology and crystals? Enter Cosmos, Crystals, and Cabernet. We’re creating a tasting kit, which includes a bottle of Petite Sirah, a mahogany obsidian sphere, and a virtual presentation on the astrology of the October 31 full moon. You have to order before October 22 in order to get your bottle plus crystal and cosmic tasting notes. Details here as well as how to purchase your kit. This is a project that’s in beta, so you would be a part of an inaugural circle and virtual event planned for November 1. (If you can’t make the live video call, a replay will be available.)
