Today Saturn and Neptune make an exact square, a connection that doesn’t happen very often. A square is friction; two planets running up against each other with different agendas and Saturn and Neptune couldn’t be more different.
If Saturn is structure and worldly ambitions, then Neptune is sacrifice, release, and higher callings. There is a struggle in this square, a push to resolve tensions between the material and the spiritual. We may be in the middle of a full blown existential crisis as a result.
Here’s the thing. Saturn in Sagittarius is a quest for meaning and truth. We’re working on big questions of faith until the end of 2017. But Sag is a pretty worldly sign. What happens when you start pouring in the abstract energies of Pisces? Things can get a little blurred. We’re now in mystical territory.
So, how do we resolve what we can see and know versus the unknown? The sublime? The liminal? The infinite? If God is not in a church, then where is it? In everything. In a cell, a leaf, a mountain, a galaxy. Neptune in Pisces remind us that we are all one, connected to the infinite. Then, how do we resolve this reality with a world in pain? A world with fundamentalism? Bigotry? Therein lies the rub.
Saturn and Neptune is a search for meaning, but meaning on a vast scale. The world needs more compassion. More spirit. And, with Jupiter in Virgo, we have to turn our faith and forgiveness into practical, everyday acts of service.
Happy Thanksgiving.
