There are points in the year when planets “station.” That is to say that they appear to come to a stop and move backward in their orbit. It’s an optical illusion from the perspective of earth — planets don’t really move backward. Nevertheless, these station points are powerful pivots; the archetype of the planet saturates the collective. (Look no further than the days around Mercury retrograde and direct.)
On Wednesday, November 18, the planet Neptune will station direct, flooding our feelings and experiences with themes of compassion, grief, collective anxiety, escapism, loss, sacrifice, spirituality, and a search for deeper meaning. Neptune is murky, hazy, and we’re not sure what is real and what is not.
We may feel like we’re floating this week. The boundaries of this physical world will feel a little less defined than usual. Careful of substances that take you out of reality — this is the lower path of Neptune. Instead, meditate, reflect, search your soul, and ask yourself, “What is my purpose? How can I live my purpose?” Ultimately Neptune is a planet that reminds us that there is something more to this world. We just have to rediscover it.
