We’re in the dark of the moon, the last day of the lunar month when the light wanes and we’re pulled toward quiet reflection. A lot has happened since the Gemini New Moon on May 25. We made major decisions. Tomorrow we begin again with the Cancer New Moon.
As I mentioned yesterday, Cancer Season is a time when we examine the heart and soul of our lives — emotional connection, family, roots. Ruled by the Moon, Cancer reminds us that we have to feed ourselves on all levels. We need touch, closeness. We need the security that comes with knowing that we’re not alone, that there are people that care for us and vice versa. The Moon is the substance that waters creation. It’s the repository of memory. It’s sense, instinct, and intuition.
We all have the Moon somewhere in our chart. In fact, the Moon is just as important as the Sun and when you know what sign the Moon is in, you know how to feed your life. If you’re not sure where your Moon is, you can look up your birth information on a site like Astro.com. (Note, you’ll need your exact birth time.)
PS — I teaching an intimate, evening workshop here in New York on July 25 called The Gateway: Eclipses and the Astrology of Transformation. It doesn’t matter how much astrology you know. I’ll be teaching you about August’s eclipses and what they mean for your sun sign in this hands on workshop. You’ll learn how to work with the eclipse’s energy of creation and transformation. Early registration is $50. For more details and to register, click here.
