As I mentioned yesterday, the Sun is coming up on its annual line up with Pluto, a time when the light of creation meets the Lord of the Underworld. When these two planets merge, it’s an intense examination of ourselves as well as our unconscious projections.
But what does that really mean? Why is Pluto a necessary yet uncomfortable planet to work with? If each planet serves as a key to understanding life and ourselves, then Pluto holds the mirror to us. It’s not enough to want to be a better person, to work on ourselves, to grow in deeper, more soulful ways. The reality is that evolution is a messy process, both emotionally and psychically. We have to face our demons.
The upside of Pluto is that when we really own our darkness we can start to make a conscious change, rising and opening more to the greatest potential of ourselves. This is the real alchemy of turning lead into gold. Pluto shows us just how much we can change — and change for the better.
So here we are, gazing into Pluto’s mirror yet again. This lunar month, with it’s high stakes full moon slash cardinal grand cross on January 12, means that we’ve got to do a lot of personal evolution in the coming days. It may mean facing our fears, shedding old skin, and metaphorically killing off a part of ourself that is no longer needed.
Note that there’s a particular area of your chart that has undergone a profound transformation since 2008. If you missed my sign by run down, check out my Pluto in Capricorn link below.
