Mercury arrives in Pisces as the Moon switches into Gemini. Normally the quick witted and even quicker thinking Gemini Moon plays off well with the Aquarius Sun. Yes, it’s a day for big creative ideas, but we also need to get in touch with our intuition.
Mercury will also be in the sign of Pisces for the next nine weeks, until April 11, so we’re going to need to get used to thinking and communication being driven by emotion and feeling. Pisces is not an analytical sign. Here Mercury is all music, art, and dance. It can also be a little confusing for communication, too.
We’re also in the midpoint of the season, the half way mark between winter and spring … at least here in the northern hemisphere. These seasonal midpoints have been celebrated for centuries. The Celts called it Imbolc, which is celebrated on February 1. This pagan tradition can also be seen in the tradition of Groundhog Day on February 2. Nevertheless, it’s a good day to recognize this sacred transition between the solstice and the equinox.
