After a five month retrograde, Pluto turns direct at 3 Aquarius. What is hidden may be revealed. Pluto invokes powerful emotional and psychological forces. Through inner reflection and emotional honesty, we can use this energy to make a great change.
When Pluto is strong in the sky, whether by aspect or a change in its direction (Pluto turned retrograde on May 6, for example) it’s important to pay attention to the subtext of whatever we are going through. Pluto is an evolutionary planet. Events this week and next are pushing us to grow and evolve.
One of the stock examples that I use to explain the power of Pluto as a force of emotional and psychological alchemy, is how our repressed emotions can mirror through our relationships. For example, our repressed anger may show up in relationships with people with anger issues. Pluto reveals to us what has been hidden or repressed in the unconscious. When we acknowledge our own shadow self, our repressed and rejected emotions, a powerful shift of consciousness can happen that creates alchemy. Anger can be transmuted into positive action and motivation.
Whatever relationship dynamics we are navigating at the moment, romantic or otherwise, is it possible that that person is an avatar or a mirror for something we can’t see about ourselves?
Keep in mind that we are in the early stages of a great story of transformation that will work its way through the Aquarius part of our astrology over the next two decades. We’ve only had 2-3 years of Pluto in Aquarius in our lifetime, a sign it first entered in March 2023 and then again in January 2024 and finally in November 2024. Whatever is happening this week and next week could be part of a larger story. (Read Pluto in Aquarius: Sign by Sign to refresh what area of our lives is in the beginning of a great change.)
