The Astrology of July 17, 2026

We go into the weekend with a Virgo Moon, one that turns our attention to the daily duties of our lives. It’s a day to put things in order, to return to unfinished projects, and check off items from our to-do list. We continue to focus on the practicalities of life through Saturday.

The Virgo Moon is a reminder that Mercury is presently retrograde, although coming to the end of its four-week review. As we tend to our responsibilities this weekend, we may need to revisit something from the past — a past choice, a conversation, a memory, something with family or even a sibling.

Mercury, as the ruler of Virgo, represents our ability to analyze, to use our critical thinking skills, to conceptualize and organize information into systems. A retrograde, which happens every few months, is always an opportunity to check the facts or to rework and reorganize systems that are no longer working.

There is another side to Mercury, which is to serve and to help others. And we may find that someone needs our aid at this time, maybe someone with whom we have something unresolved.

Mercury will turn direct on July 23 at 16 Cancer.

Speaking of opportunities, this weekend we have a rare trine between Uranus and Pluto, an influence that reaches beyond this weekend, if not July and into August. These two planets combined help us to reinvent, innovate, transform, and make major necessary changes.

If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for July 18-20, 2026.
