It’s a day to create structures and sketch out plans for the future with the Moon in practical Capricorn. A supportive sextile between the Sun and Saturn also gives us opportunities to set goals, step into roles of leadership, and show off our expertise.
A Capricorn Moon puts the focus on Saturn today, a planet that was known to the ancients as the last planet in our solar system. Saturn traces long arcs in the sky, taking three years to cross one zodiac sign and thirty years to make one complete rotation around the Sun. For this, Saturn teaches us about time and the lessons that come with life. (This is why ages 29-30 and 59-60 are such critical ages. They mark the Saturn Return.)
Since February 13, Saturn has been in Aries for the first time since approximately April 1996 to April 1999. (Saturn did preview Aries last year from May 24 to September 1, 2025.) Today’s Capricorn Moon — a sign ruled by Saturn — is a good time to check in with these new priorities. How have we’ve been tending to the responsibilities that come with this new focus in our lives?
In 2026, there are key months where we will have a check-in with Saturn, namely February and April, which have already passed. The next will be next month when Saturn turns retrograde at 14 Aries on July 26. Then on December 10, Saturn will turn direct at 7 Aries. These dates are ones to watch because events in our lives will build around these points to create a larger narrative that Saturn in Aries will frame until April 2028 when it leaves the sign for Taurus.
