Welcome to Taurus Season! The Sun is now in the second sign of the zodiac, bringing us into a season that’s all about getting in touch with element earth, from food and taste to money and resources. If Aries is the spark of life, then Taurus is fertility and life in full bloom.
Taurus gets us back to basics. It’s the first earth sign as well as the first fixed sign. It helps us to plant our seeds, to feel as though the world is a safe space to grow and to be nourished. Of course life isn’t always the case. But we have an opportunity with Taurus Season to get back in touch with what we need to create stability and security.
So, we will use the next four weeks to slow down, to enjoy the pleasures of life, to smell the flowers. Perhaps this is exactly what we need after some of the intensity of this past Aries Season. (Taurus always makes me think of the Rider-Waite version of the Empress card in the tarot, a resplendent pregnant woman wearing a crown of stars.)
For the next few days only, Venus, the ruler of Taurus Season, is in Taurus, creating a concentration of Taurus energy. (Time to find our inner Empress.) But Venus is coming up to a conjunction to Uranus on April 23, its final rendezvous with Uranus in Taurus in our lifetime.
A seven year chapter comes to a close. Whatever Taurus governs in our lives may look radically different than it did in 2018, 2019, when Uranus first entered Taurus. This week will be one last push to reinvent our relationship with stability and security, to inhabit ourselves, to transform our relationship with touch, taste, and the pleasures of life. Uranus will enter Gemini on April 25 and activate a new area of reinvention.
Finally, Mercury meets up with Neptune and Saturn today. With the Moon in Gemini, it may be a day for serious conversations, significant choices, and a need to step into greater roles of maturity. With Neptune in the mix, don’t forget to listen to your intuition.
