After a fourteen-year stay in Pisces, Neptune arrives in Aries, part of a larger shift of planets that will mark 2026 as the start of a new era and cycle. If Neptune is an evolutionary force, then we will have work to do around power and action, individuality and leadership.
It’s hard to see Neptune in the everyday. It’s a planet that works in the intermediary, in a space that is not unlike the ebbs and flows of the Moon. But, unlike the Moon, Neptune has the power to bring us into deep emotional and psychic levels, opening us up to mystical experiences. It can transform us, reshape us, and bring us to transcendence.
All planets have a duality to them, a light and a shadow. As much as Neptune can bring us to the highest of the highest of the highs — a transcendence that touches on unconditional love and acceptance — it also can bring us into the abyss.
We may be feeling a lot of emotions right now. It’s not just Neptune’s arrival in Aries, but Saturn is just behind Neptune at the end of Pisces, preparing to go into Aries on February 13. Plus, we’re three weeks away from a solar eclipse. The coming weeks will be a turning point.
That said, Neptune in Aries will be the start of a major chapter, one where we will need to heal the Aries shadow — hyper individualism, lack of empathy and recognition of the needs of others. But we will also get to lean into the potential of Neptune in Aries by bringing compassion and spirituality to our actions. Now that Neptune is in Aries, it will give energy to tomorrow’s powerful Mars-Pluto conjunction at 3 Aquarius. It’s hard to say concretely what this will mean other than the fact that there is a great potential for shifts and changes in the coming weeks.
