The Leo Sun receives support from Chiron in Aries today, an opportunity to heal the past or to loosen a knot that normally holds us back. In Aries, Chiron inspires us to have the courage to do the hard thing.
It’s easy to lose Chiron in the background in the midst of everything that is going on in the sky. A newer addition to astrology, Chiron works on more subtle emotional and psychic levels. It’s an asteroid that puts us in touch with our deepest healing by pressing on a pain point.
The beauty and the power of Chiron is that through this pain point we can take the things that have made us suffer the most and use it like medicine to help and inspire others. For example, think of everyone who has taken some of their darkest moments or deepest struggles and used it like a beacon of light for others. (Read On Chiron, Suffering, and Knots.)
As an aside, as I write this, I’m having a head scratching moment at the awareness that Chiron is nearly to the end of its time in Aries. (More so because I was born with Chiron at 6 Taurus and the strange realization that I will be having my Chiron Return in the next few years, which can only happen at age 50. Time sneaks up on you.)
Chiron first entered Aries in April 2018. I remember the day because I was standing on the subway platform in Manhattan, on my way home after work, and there was a man in a wheelchair in military uniform who was missing his legs. (One of the manifestations of the Chiron archetype is a wound or a wounding. One of the archetypes of Aries is the soldier.)
That said, the Moon’s in Cancer today, a sign that brings us to the tapestry of the past with its many threads and knots. It’s a day for nostalgia and reflection. We’re also coming to the end of the lunar month, a time for rest instead of action.
On September 6, I am doing a three-hour online intimate workshop from 1pm to 3pm ET. Recorded for replay. Using my “12 Rooms” approach to astrology, we will dialogue with the planets to create a sacred and intuitive experience that will carry us into eclipse season and beyond. Register and learn more.
If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for August 20, 2025.
