Welcome to the Aquarius Full Moon, the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on friendship and community, systems and networks, big ideas and a vision for the future. As one of the last signs of the zodiac, Aquarius brings us to the level of the collective. The full moon is exact on August 19, 2024 at 2:25 pm EDT, 27 Aquarius-Leo. That’s 11:25 am Los Angeles, 7:25 pm London, 8:25 pm Johannesburg, 11:55 pm New Delhi, 4:25 am Sydney on August 20, and 6:25 am Auckland.

Full moons put something into full view. They can coincide with events and achievements, sometimes provocatively so. They are the consort to the new moon and their new beginnings. It’s a time of resolution and decision making.

When there is a full moon in Aquarius, we’ve nearly reached the end of the zodiac. We are no longer in the individuality and the “self” of Leo, Aquarius’s opposing sign. Instead, we are in a space dedicated to groups and the interconnectivity of life. It’s in Aquarius that we find the fabric of humanity. It’s the systems that move life around on a bigger level.

It’s a full moon to think big, whether it’s the bigger vision in our lives or the cogs and wheels that power our world. How do we fit in? What do we believe in? How do we see the world? How do we look beyond ourselves and to the level of our community, nation, continent, planet, solar system, galaxy … ?

In the chart of the full moon, we find some dynamic, provocative, and possibly challenging astrology. With an exact square to Uranus in Taurus, there may be a strong demand to change, evolve, transform. After all, Uranus is an evolutionary planet; its job is to get us to grow and evolve any way possible.

As a result, we may see an upheaval in how we think, see things, or a disruption of systems. News may surprise, illuminate, and open up new visions. Events may come out of the blue in the days around the full moon, events that have their seeds in the Leo New Moon of August 4, 2024.

We do, however, have support from Mars and Jupiter in Gemini. There’s movement in our lives right now. Take advantage of Uranus to open up, have a breakthrough, to say what you need to say. All of this sets us up for the next lunar month, which begins on September 2, 2024, and brings us to a lunar month with our first eclipse since March-April, earlier this year.
