We’re in the dark of the moon. Although it’s the start of the week, a time when we typically make plans and get things organized, we may find that we’re winding down instead of starting up. What have we learned since the July 20 Cancer New Moon?
Although it’s a day of reflection and integration, the Sun and Mercury in Leo make a fiery trine to Mars in Aries. We’re feeling passionate, creative, or even hot tempered, something that may be happening behind the scenes as we wind down the lunar month.
Speaking of fire, tomorrow’s Leo New Moon will put us in touch more deeply with the element Fire over the coming four weeks of the lunar month. Fire initiates in astrology. It connects us with the spark of life. And with the new moon in Leo, we’re going to need to get in touch with that spark of life into September. We’re also going to have to rediscover who we really are and share that with others.
Let’s not forget that Mars is three weeks away from turning retrograde in Aries, so it will continue to heat things up both collectively and personally. And with Mars making a long square to Saturn in Capricorn, we’re going to have to work hard to make sure that we’re using our Mars — using our drive, determination, passion, and courage — in a way that’s constructive and balanced, taking care where it’s not.
