Welcome to Leo Season! Ruled by the Sun, Leo teaches us to shine who we are in all its forms, from creativity and self expression to identity and individuality. Leo is also courage. In fact, as we round through the last of the eclipses, it’s an imperative that we find the courage to be ourselves.

As mentioned, we’re marking the last of the three eclipses that have taken us through yet another topsy-turvy eclipse season. And eclipse season means that something in our lives is changing. Whatever story that began last month will continue with a Leo Solar Eclipse on August 11. And it’s not just the eclipses. We have a couple of other things to contend with.

Uranus will turn retrograde on August 7, marking the furthest it will reach into Taurus this year. If you remember, Uranus arrived in Taurus on May 15, a big deal shift that means that we’re reinventing our relationship with some of the most basic aspects of our daily lives — food, money, and shelter. Uranus in Taurus has also been a look into what makes us feel safe and stable in our lives and perhaps a second look at the essentials that we often take for granted. Note what thematically comes up for you on or around August 7 as it is a story that will continue in various forms over the next eight years.

Speaking of retrogrades, both Mars and Mercury are still in reverse. Mars, the planet of action and will, dips back into Capricorn on August 12 for another look at how we take command in our lives and how we take on responsibility. As for Mercury, it will finishing up its retrograde in Leo on August 19, touching on themes of identity and how we communicate that identity. By the end of the month, on August 27, Mars will turn direct, giving us a surge of energy to push forward as it does. (Good news if you’re an Aries or a Scorpio.)

Lastly a Pisces Full Moon on August 26 caps off the month with a spotlight on deep emotion, health, and spirituality. With a strong connection between Jupiter and Neptune, don’t be surprised if a lot of feelings come up for you to release in heal. Open your hearts to this energy because it’s powerful, forgiving, and touches on themes of universality and unconditional love. Quite the finish to a season of eclipse and Uranus fueled ups and downs.

Read for your Sun and rising sign.

Aries

March 21–April 19

Aries Glyph

Aries, it’s probably been a little uncomfortable for you lately. (We talked about this quite a bit in July’s horoscopes if you need a refresh.) It’s one thing that Mars, your ruling planet, has been retrograde since the end of June, a time that has been more about dealing with the past than about moving forward. But it’s quite another thing that Mars has been in this slow, prickly square with Uranus. Translation? Life has likely been a bit shaky and unstable since last month. With the ground beneath your feet rumbling, even in August as well, it’s important to keep in mind some key points. One, Uranus demands consciousness and awareness. If you’re seeing something in a new light or even seeing yourself differently, it’s because Uranus is shaking your awareness. And new awareness demands new choices. Things can’t stay the same. Two, Uranus also demands freedom. Whatever is holding you back, whatever is not in the truth of who you are, needs to go. As a result, you’re likely quite restless as you step into August, looking to make some big changes. Speaking of Uranus, the planet of evolution and revolution will turn retrograde on August 7 and it will do so in the part of your chart that speaks to money, income, material stability, and value. Don’t forget, Uranus has been activating these themes since May, signalling to you that over the coming eight years you’ll need to reinvent your relationship with money, from how you earn it to how you save and spend it. The beginning of August will be a reminder of this demand for reinvention. That said, August is Leo Season, the time in your personal calendar when you explore your creativity and talents. It’s a time for you to get to the heart of who you are and share that with others. The solar eclipse on August 11 will underline these themes for you. Do you know who you are? What does identity mean to you? Are you being the real you? Remember, with Uranus putting pressure on you this month, there is no room for being someone other than yourself. It’s not a time to hide or be shy. Use August to be bold and courageous. And with the eclipse activating Jupiter in Scorpio, to be the real you means revealing some of the most personal, intimate, and vulnerable parts of yourself. A day after the solar eclipse, on August 12, Mars dips back into Capricorn, taking you back to themes or events from mid May. Mars’s revisit of Capricorn will be a push to get your life organized (if it isn’t already) and step back into roles of leadership and responsibility. It will also put an emphasis on career for the rest of the month and into September. It’s hustle time, Aries, especially after Mars turns direct on August 27. But as much as you’re working hard this month, trying to regain your sense of equilibrium, the full moon on August 26 will put the quieter side of life into the spotlight. You may be needing to retreat from the world or do a lot of soul searching as you step into September. In order to move forward, sometimes we have to let go of the past. Taurus

April 20–May 20

Taurus Glyph

August is another link in a story of great change that’s only just beginning. And if you have a moment, it’s worth going back and rereading your May, June, and July horoscopes. To recap, there was a big cosmic shift for you back in May when the planet Uranus entered Taurus for an eight year stay. Yes, eight years. What this means is that you’re in an eight year story of reinvention and personal revolution. I’m hammering home this point again because the first week or so of August will touch on this powerful transformation you’re going through. First, the Sun and Uranus will square off on August 1, potentially giving you a jolt deep in your emotional core. You may be asking yourself, am I safe? Do I have what I need to feel rooted and stable? Or do I need uproot myself? After all, August is Leo Season, a time when the Sun shines on home and family for you. It’s naturally a time to nest and spend time with loved ones, but with your life shaking courtesy of Uranus, you may be contemplating a big move, a change in the home, or a rethink of the very foundation of your life. Second, Uranus will turn retrograde on August 7, potentially giving you another jolt. And for a Taurus, a sign that likes to keep things chill, all this rocking and rolling is hitting a nerve. So, what do you do? Thankfully Venus, your ruling planet, will be in your chart’s sector of getting organized and getting to work. When life throws a curveball at you, it’s important to stay on top of the details and come up with a new plan. You may also need to focus on your health this month and if you’re a bit frazzled, how do you tend to your emotional and physical needs? (Stress eating? You are known for having a sweet tooth, Taurus.) Going back to home, family, and the roots of your life, the solar eclipse on August 11 will bring these potential changes on the home front to a head. Again, you may be planning a move, making a change in your living situation, or needing to shore up the foundation of your life. (Note that this eclipse is merely part of a series that began in February 2017. It’s important to note what was going on then because that chapter is coming to a close.) It’s also worth mentioning that Mars, your relationship planet, has been making some stressful aspects to Uranus since July. Something has to evolve in how you interact with others, especially a partner or someone you are in a committed relationship with. Uranus says that you can’t keep doing things the way you’ve been doing them. And if you’ve had some powerful realizations about yourself and your relationships, how will you make powerful new choices? Again, it’s time for reinvention, Taurus. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Gemini

May 21–June 20

Gemini Glyph

Feeling a little busy, Gemini? Leo Season is a time in your calendar when you’re naturally running around, going from appointment to appointment, and even getting away out of town. Sounds like just your speed, Gemini. But for most of August your ruling planet, Mercury, is retrograde, which means you’ve got some loose ends to tie up and some choices to reevaluate. Even as you get out and about, you may find that things are either not moving in the direction you’d like or events are more hectic than usual. (Retrogrades sometimes feel like all or nothing.) And if you’re the sort to get nervous about Mercury Retrograde (btw, don’t), just make sure you’re doing your due diligence and double checking communication and not making any major decisions until later this month if you can. Anywho, August is notable because it rounds out the eclipse season that began in July. While you’re not in the crossroads of change like other signs, you may feel the August 11 solar eclipse as a time to make a big decision, to focus on your education, to zero in on writing, speaking, and other aspects of communication. You may be starting a project, too, or grappling with something in your career or in the way you live out your daily life. And since Mercury has a starring role in the August 11 eclipse, you may find yourself on the threshold of change. Having said that, on August 12, a retrograde Mars changes signs this month as well, moving from Aquarius, where it has been stirring up some potentially ideologically or politically heated conversations, to Capricorn. This sign change will heat up themes of intimacy, trust, and power, bringing you back to events from mid May 2018. Mars in Capricorn will also activate Saturn and if you’ve been keeping tabs then you’ll remember that Saturn is also in Capricorn for the next few years. During this time, you’ll have to learn some deep lessons about facing your fears, digging into your psychological shadow, and learning to be more vulnerable. So Mars in Capricorn the second half of August and into September may touch on some sensitive spots, the sort of things you only feel comfortable sharing with a trusted confidant or a mate. By the end of the month you’re feeling the pull between your home life and your professional life. A full moon on August 26 will put career and responsibility into the spotlight. You may have a decision to make about what direction to take your life in. This may also be a natural time to change jobs, get recognition, or take the next steps with our ambitions. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Communication, speaking, thinking, ideas, writing, learning, classes, education, higher education, movement, travel, trips, ideology, philosophy, politics, beliefs, faith, news, information, political differences, legal matters, the psyche, the deep self, facing fears, intimacy, trust, secrets, sexuality, finance, wealth, debt, estate, insurance, taxes, home, family, foundation, roots, career, public life, reputation, recognition, direction, responsibilities, ambition.

Cancer

June 21–July 22

Cancer Glyph

So, Cancer, how are you faring after last month’s solar eclipse? Did anything shift for change for you? If you read your July horoscopes, I went into the hows and whys. In short, you stepped into a new year that may be very different than the previous one and the eclipse energy will reverberate into August. With the planet Pluto featuring so prominently in that July 12 eclipse, you may feel as though a line has been drawn that separates your old life from your new life. Another way Pluto may be manifesting, even in this month, is that you’re having to face yourself and look at something that is deep within you on a psychological or spiritual level. Your relationships may be up for review. What are they reflecting? Do you like what you see? Does something need to profoundly transform? You start August with a square off between Mars and Uranus and, as a result, you may be looking to make a change in your direction or need to reinvent something about yourself. While it’s a restless way to start the month, Venus’s arrival in Libra on August 6 will bring a beautiful energy to the home. You may naturally be spending more time with family or tending to your nest by making changes in the home. While it’s a time to nurture the very foundation of your life, you may focusing on relationships, too. If you are in a committed relationship, you may be looking for ways to strengthen that connection this month. If you are single and looking for a partner, use August to bring in the energy of partnership … but in the consciousness that everything has to change in how you interact, connect, and partner with people. If you are in a relationship, note that things may heat up later this month when Mars dips back into your relationship sign of Capricorn on August 12, turning direct August 27. Mars is not known for its diplomacy, so something may boil over between you and a mate, something that maybe you were dealing with back in March and April. Let’s not forget that August is also Leo Season, a time in your personal calendar when the spotlight is on money and stability. This is when you get back to basics and make sure you have all that you need to live comfortably, such as a roof over your head, food to eat, and the resources to thrive. A solar eclipse on August 11 will put an emphasis on these themes for the coming months. (Actually you’ve been having eclipses in this part of your chart since February 2017, so none of this should be new. If anything, this month is merely another chapter in that story, although one that will wrap up next year.) So, you may be looking to make changes in how you earn a living, how you save money, and what you spend it on, but you may need to deal with some less than helpful beliefs about money as well as some less than helpful beliefs about yourself. Nothing you can’t handle, Cancer. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Money, income, salary, spending, saving, resources, material needs, material stability, what you own, worth, value, finance, wealth, debt, assets, loans, facing fears, the psyche, the deep self, transformation, relationships, other people, interpersonal skills, connection, commitment, home, family, living situation.

Leo

July 23–August 22

Leo Glyph

Leo, how do you find the balance between being yourself and tending to the needs of your relationships? You’re doing a dance this month. On one hand it’s your birthday (happy birthday!), the time when the Sun returns to you after its journey through the twelve signs. It’s a time for you to be yourself, to celebrate in the pleasure, joy, and creativity of life. On the other hand it’s eclipse season and the eclipses of late have been seesawing back and forth between Leo and Aquarius, between you and your relationships. Coming off of a lunar eclipse on July 27, you start the month having to make a decision about a relationship. This could be an intimate or committed partnership you are in or a decision about how you connect and interact with others. Mars has been stirring things up since May and your relationships or interactions have likely been pointed. (Mars isn’t exactly a peacemaker.) And a tense square off between Mars and Uranus on August 1 may push you in a new direction. Speaking of Uranus, the planet turns retrograde on August 7, giving your career a little bit of a jolt. See, ever since Uranus went into Taurus, your career sign, back in May, you’ve been in the beginning of an eight year story (!) of reinventing your place in the world, your direction, and even your career. While you’re only three months into this story, it’s important to take consciousness of the changes that will be required of you over the coming years. Uranus demands authenticity and freedom. It’s not about you doing the career or taking on the responsibilities that other people expect of you. It’s about you doing what’s really going to help you do what you value in the world. As a result, pay attention to what’s happening in your worldly life during the first half of the month. Then, on August 11, a solar eclipse in Leo will turn the wheel of fate. Maybe you feel as though you’re on the threshold of a new life and the solar eclipse will push you in that new direction. (If you are born on or around August 11 the coming year will potentially be very different than the previous one.) With the solar eclipse’s square off with Jupiter, you may be looking to make a change in the home in the coming months, from a move to a need to put down or tend to existing roots. Then on August 12, Mars will dip back into Capricorn before completing its retrograde on August 27. During this time you may find yourself going back to old projects, working more, and dealing with health and diet. It’s time to tie up loose ends in this department, too. Finally a full moon on August 26 will put the spotlight on some of your deepest emotions. If you’re feeling emotional in the last few days of the month, it’s because you have to face something that may have been previously hidden or buried. This could be old emotions, memories, or even stuff from childhood. In order to move forward, you have to let go of the past, Leo. And this full moon may bring a lot of deep healing if you are open to it. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes:  You, the self, new year, new beginnings, crossroads, relationships, other people, finding balance, back and forth fights, interpersonal tension, emotional breaks, emotional separation, new direction, change in career, change in responsibility, reinventing career, move, change in the home, work, projects, daily life, schedule, diet, fitness, nutrition, health.

Virgo

August 23–September 22

Virgo Glyph

Who are you? What does this all mean? True, it’s Leo Season, a time that takes you into the quiet spaces within to reflect and look back at the previous year before celebrating another trip around the Sun. So you’re naturally attuned to life’s existential questions right now. But there’s a few things going on in August that suggest that this goes deeper, that you’re possibly sorting through deeper emotional or spiritual questions and reevaluating what you believe in as well as how you see the world. All of this boils downs to questions of identity. And with Saturn making a long term visit to a particular part of your chart, you’re working hard right now to define who you are and to take your talents seriously. That said, you start August with a little bit of a jolt. You may receive unexpected news or information that causes you to see things in a different light, especially around the time that Uranus turns retrograde on August 7. Additionally, with Mars putting an extra emphasis on work, projects, and health, you haven’t had a lot of time off in recent weeks and it’s possible that you’ve been overworking yourself a bit or running around with appointments and responsponsibilities. Then again, with the Sun and your ruling planet Mercury in Leo for most of August, you may feel a strong pull between what you have to get done versus your need to rest, recuperate, and get your bearings. In fact, Mercury has been in Leo since the end of June and it’s possible that you’ve been a little tired or lower energy the past few weeks. (Mercury turns direct on August 19 and will get to Virgo on September 5, so it may take a few weeks for you to get your mojo back.) Speaking of rest and recuperation, the solar eclipse on August 11 will put an emphasis on this for the coming sixth months. It’s important to note that you’ve been in this time period, which began back in February 2017, where it’s about getting more rest, retreating from life a little, searching for spiritual answers, and shedding unnecessary weight from the past. So keep this in mind if you’re feeling like August is pushing you to let go of some things — spiritual baggage? — that can’t come with you into the next year. Lastly, a full moon will light up your relationship sign of Pisces on August 26. It’s the time of year when it’s naturally about connection and, as a result, you may be feeling like reaching out to people or having to make a decision about a connection. If you’re in an intimate partnership, this may be a time when there’s an event in the relationship. If you’re looking to be in a relationship, use its energies to reach out and find serious connection. Mind you, you’ll feel as though you’re having to do dance between your need for quiet time and your need for social connection later this month. Strike a balance. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes:  Rest, retreat, recuperation, fatigue, the unconscious, dreams, hidden self, behind the scenes, solitude, mysticism, spirituality, spiritual search, meditation, existential crisis, faith, beliefs, philosophy, worldview, morality, right and wrong, education, law, health, wellness, body and soul, taking care of the body, diet, fitness, nutrition, work, projects, schedule, daily life.

Libra

September 23–October 22

Libra Glyph

Who are your friends? Who’s in your social network? Leo Season is a natural time in your calendar to connect with your community, especially people who are like minded. But with the eclipses stirring things up in this department last month as well as this month, you may find yourself reaching out to friends or your social network more. The eclipses have also been creating a bit of a back and forth between the needs of your community versus your own needs. Then again, you’re a Libra. You know how to negotiate and find a balance. It’s just that make sure you’re bringing your best self to whatever social or interpersonal situation you’re negotiating this month. Meaning, if there is a disagreement, are you right or justified in how you’re acting or do you need to see the bigger picture? Mars Retrograde has been digging into themes around identity since the end of June, making you more aware of who you are and what you have to share. Yes, Leo Season means that it’s time to focus on community, but who are you within that community? Speaking of the self, Venus arrives in Libra on August 6, giving you a natural boost for the rest of the month. This is Venus’s return home and, as a result, you may feel more yourself, more social, more charming. (Venus in Libra is also known for its grace and beauty.) Then on August 7, Uranus will turn retrograde, potentially bringing up deep emotions. It’s important to note that, as of May 15, you’re in an 8 year story of going into the deepest parts of yourself and liberating yourself from any emotional knots or traumas that are keeping you from being your real self. In way, Uranus will be showing you what you’ve refused to look at. Maybe this is a strong point to make, but keep this in mind as you do your inner awakening and excavation over the coming years. Looking to the solar eclipse on August 11, you’re continuing with a story that has been going on since February 2017 that has focused on the friends you keep and the groups or organizations that you are a part of. This coming chapter, courtesy of the eclipse, will have you examining your worth as well as whether you and your friends or the people in your community share your values. Similarly, the eclipses are saying that it’s an important time to build community and strengthen friendships. PS, don’t forget that your relationship planet, Mars, has been retrograde since June 26. It’s been a time for you to deal with or work through relationship issues from the past. Mars will dip back into Capricorn on August 12, bringing up an issue from May or something emotionally unresolved. Lastly, if you’re living with a partner, you may have to contend with something about your living situation when Mars turns direct on August 27. At least Mars will finally turn direct and things can start to settle down. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes:  Friends, community, social network, tribe, belonging, social causes, humanity, the big picture, the future, looking ahead, identity, self expression, creativity, freedom, the self, relationships, partnerships, other people, value, worth, self worth, break, change, emotional jolt, deep work, deep self, healing, transformation, revelation, awakening, intimacy, emotional connection.

Scorpio

October 23–November 21

Scorpio Glyph

There’s a lot to talk about Scorpio and, due to the ongoing eclipses plus a jolt of Uranian energy, different aspects of your life are moving into new phases. My joke about Scorpio is that, despite your reputation for transformation and change, you actually don’t like change. In fact, unless you’re the one calling the shots, you’re naturally resistant to anything that tries to switch things up. But here’s a tip, Scorpio. You’d do best to just surrender this August. Stop fighting the inevitable because lot of things are changing in your life. Between the eclipses and Mars’s tango with Uranus, this is about you powerfully stepping forward in your life. But, as all Scorpios know deep in their souls, in order to move forward you have to leave something behind. Here’s what you need to know. First, Mars, your ruling planet, has been retrograde since the end of June. As a result, it’s been a time to reflect, pull inward, and retrace some of your steps. With Mars spending a lot of time down in Aquarius, you may be spending more time at home than usual. Maybe you moved or you’re getting ready to move. Maybe you’re extra focused on what home means for you and the type of foundation you want to build your life on. Additionally, when your ruling planet is retrograde, you may feel like you’re not operating at 100%. So, thankfully, you have Mars Direct on August 27 to look forward to. In the meantime, Mars will dip back into Capricorn on August 12, bringing you back to themes that touch on communication, writing, education, and learning. The rest of August may be busier as a result, certainly after the retrograde ends. The other thing to keep in mind is that Mars and Uranus have been in a stressful angle with each other and their square on August 1 starts things off with another push to make big changes — especially changes in the relationship department. See, ever since Uranus arrived in Taurus back in mid-May, you’ve been in an eight year story of reinventing your relationships, from your intimate partnerships to how you connect and relate to others. So you may be meeting people who are quite different from the status quo at this time. Or, if you’re currently in a relationship, how do things need to change. Between Mars’s square off with Uranus on August 1 and Uranus’s retrograde turn on August 7, you’re about to find out just what is or needs to change. (Yes, Scorpio, I know. You don’t like change.) Then there’s the solar eclipse on August 11. Falling in the sign of Leo, this eclipse is putting the spotlight on career as well as the responsibilities you have in the world and the direction you take your life. Ever since the eclipses moved into Leo back in February 2017, you’ve been getting a cosmic push to move forward professionally and take advantage of opportunities. August may be a big month for you career wise, especially with Jupiter still in Scorpio until November, but it may take until after Mars turns direct on August 27 for things to get moving more. Again, Scorpio, just surrender. Be open to something better and that there may actually be something better on the other side of what you’ve been fighting. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

Sagittarius, you have a reputation for being the traveler of the zodiac as well as someone who’s always on the search for truth and wisdom. Since it’s Leo Season, this is a natural time for you to jet about or try to satisfy your deep need to explore. But with Jupiter, your ruling planet, still pulling you behind the scenes until November, you may be thinking hard on existential questions and working through themes of faith. The exploration is internal as much as it is external. But this month is also about real life and Uranus’s retrograde on August 7 is a reminder that you’re in a new chapter, one that will span 8 years, where you’re reinventing some of the most fundamental things about your life — how you organize your day and spend your time, how you work and what you work on, how you take care of your body and what you eat. For as much as August is about abstract, intangible themes — faith, meaning, spirituality — you’re going to be sorting through the basics. So it’s a good month to implement change in this department otherwise Uranus is going to be pushing you to do so over the coming years. That said, Leo Season is travel and education season for you and the new moon solar eclipse on August 11 will put a big emphasis on this. Over the coming months your education may be a focus, especially higher education or speciality training. Additionally, you may be traveling to far flung destinations in search of experience and knowledge about the world and yourself. It’s a time for you to also get clearer on what you believe in, what’s right and wrong, and how that shapes how you interact with the world. But let’s not forget that money and financial security have been a focus of late. With Saturn paying a long term visit to Capricorn, you’ve been having to figure some things out and get your financial ducks in a row, all in the name of having a solid handle on your material stability and needs. Mars will dip back into Capricorn on August 12 before wrapping up its retrograde on August 27. In the meantime, you may be more focused on money the second half of the month. Does something have value or not? Will it see you through the long term? Is it worth your time? By the end of the month, on August 26, a full moon will light up the part of your chart that speaks to home and family. You may have a decision to make about where you live, how you live, and how you nurture yourself. A family matter may come to light or you may finally have the opportunity to heal something old or even ancestral. It’s a beautiful but emotional full moon, so don’t miss the chance to open your heart as wide as possible. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Capricorn

December 22–January 19

Capricorn Glyph

Capricorn, let’s have a quick check in. How are you doing? Last month’s eclipse signaled that, once again, the wheel of life is turning for you. Meaning, you’re coming into a part of your life when, especially next year, it’s time to step into a new chapter. The eclipse on July 12 also activated your relationship sign of Cancer and, as a result, relationships will factor heavily into this new chapter. If you’re not in a relationship, it’s time to pay more attention to that part of your life. Even if romantic partnership isn’t a priority right now, there are many forms in which partnership and interpersonal connection show up on a daily basis — family, friends, colleagues. If you are in a relationship, how will you and a partner enter a new chapter together? Just something to keep in mind as you navigate August as well as the rest of the year. Having said that, it’s Leo Season, a time in your personal calendar when you delve into the deepest parts of yourself — your emotions, your psyche, your fears, your shadow. In fact, Leo has been getting a lot of activity of late in the form of eclipses, so you’re getting pushed into the deep end so to speak. Here’s what you need to know. In order to grow, evolve, and transform into a better version of yourself, you have to face what’s holding you back. By delving into yourself, you meet your inner saboteur. Take time to recognize what’s driving or powering this inner saboteur and when you do, you’ll have a powerful ah-ha moment that will help you to really transcend yourself. The solar eclipse on August 11 may really stir these deep emotions within you. (Then again, you’ve been doing this work since February 2017, which is when the eclipses started activating this part of your chart.) In other news, on August 12, Mars will slip back into Capricorn, where it will wrap up its retrograde. When Mars is in Capricorn, you usually feel like you have more energy or that you can move forward, but Mars is still retrograde, at least until August 27. So, instead, you may feel as though you have too much energy or that you’re feeling agitated or restless. This is a time for you to reflect on how you take initiative and how you use your anger or aggression. Do you have problems expressing your Mars? Which is to say, do you have problems taking the lead? Moving forward? Standing up for yourself? Retrogrades are a time to rework and take consciousness of how we’ve been doing things in the past and make necessary changes. Lastly Venus will spend the month at the top of your chart, right at home in your career sign of Libra. This may be a natural time for you to make strides in your career or open up to new opportunities. Just note that Mercury is retrograde until August 19, so if there are professional opportunities, try to wait till the last week or so of August to move on them. Responsibilities and commitments will factor into the astrology of the last week of the month, too. Want to learn more about how the astrology of August will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Aquarius

January 20–February 18

Aquarius Glyph

Oh hey, Aquarius. How’s it going? Is your life a little unsettled at the moment? A lunar eclipse on July 27 set its sights on you in a way that said that the next six months may push you to make some dramatic changes. You may be looking to make a move, make a change in your relationships, or take the next step forward in your life. So, as you arrive in August, you may be still sorting through some of these changes — or at least the notion that something has to shift. And change can be a little disorienting, so make sure you’re tending to your health and diet. Don’t forget, a solar eclipse on July 12 made this area of your life a top priority. August begins with another fictitious square between Mars and Uranus, two planets that can feel a little restless when combined. Seeing how Mars is your career planet, you may be starting the month looking to make a change in your professional life or a change in direction. Just note that Mars is retrograde until August 27, so whatever is going on in that department may take until the end of the month to resolve. And then there’s Uranus. It changes direction on August 7, turning retrograde and activating a powerful new story that began back in May. This is what I alluded to when I said that you may be thinking about moving or making a change in your living situation because Uranus has been setting in motion a story where you’ll be reinventing what home and connection mean to you over the coming eight (!) years. Of course, this doesn’t you’ll be moving. But something about how you live and how you’re planted in this life will shift. On August 11 a solar eclipse will open up a new chapter in your relationships. If you’re single or casually dating, this could be a time with serious partnership comes in. If you’re already in a relationship, you and a mate are taking things in a new direction. Even if you’re not looking to be in a relationship, the eclipses are saying that it’s very important for you to bring in the energy of partnership. If you’re wondering, like, hey, why does every third sentence mention change? It’s because the four corners of your life are being activated in powerful ways and, as a result, it’s like everything that was locked down in your life is suddenly up for change or redefinition. You’re at a crossroads. Plus, Saturn, your ruling planet, has been stewing behind the scenes, trying to make sense out of life, out of everything that has been going on. With big change comes existential questions. Make sure you’re giving yourself time to reflect and go with in and nurture yourself while the wheel of your life spins. Pisces

February 19–March 20

Pisces Glyph

Pisces, I first want to mention that you’re coming to the home stretch of Jupiter’s year long journey through the sign of Scorpio. As your ruling planet, this has meant two things for you. One, you’ve been getting deeper into yourself. You’ve been doing a lot of soul searching. You’ve been dealing with themes of rebirth and transformation. Two, Scorpio just so happens to be your travel sign and it may just be that you’ve been traveling a lot since last October, travel that has taken you across the country or even to different countries. Education has also been a focus, so it’s been a perfect time to go back to school. At the heart of this time is a search for meaning after a potentially difficult 2017. As a result, you may see the world or even yourself differently. I mention this because starting November 8 you’re onto a new chapter when Jupiter moves into Sagittarius. I won’t get too ahead of myself, but I wanted to give you a heads up because next year is going to be about career, so enjoy travel and any vacations while you can. Then again it’s Leo Season, a time in your personal calendar that puts the spotlight on work and getting your to-do list done, so you may not be relaxing as much as you’d like to this August. Leo is also your health and wellness sign, so you may be getting a push to tend to your body from eating healthily or going to the gym. In fact, the solar eclipse on August 11 is a cosmic push to do so. And this is continuing a story that’s been unfolding since February 2017, this story of getting back into your body and getting back into the real world instead of getting lost in the ethers as you sometimes do. So this is a great month to recommit to yourself and recommit to everything in your daily life that needs to get done while taking a look at any limiting self beliefs that have caused you from being 100% on top of your day-to-day life. In other news, Mercury turns direct on August 19, which should help give you some traction in life. By the end of the month the narrative starts to move towards relationships and other people. When the Sun reaches Virgo on August 23, it’s not only a time to be more social, but a time to naturally connect with others one-on-one. Lastly a Pisces Full Moon on August 26 will light up your sign, putting you in the spotlight. With a beautiful connection between Jupiter and Neptune, it’s time to make a wish for the coming year. Knowing that you’ll be working hard in 2019, wish for something that you can use this work to bring into your reality.
