I talk about consciousness in my posts because it’s not enough to know what’s going on in the sky, we have to know how to bring the fullness of ourselves to any planet or sign. We’re in an era that demands healing and transformation. The astrology is telling us as much.
As the Sun makes its square to Uranus today, we’re reminded that our quest for consciousness is often a messy, confrontational process. Uranus, like Prometheus’s flame, brings light to the darkness. Uranus is a spark, an opening, a restless need to do things differently. We can either reject what we see or choose to work with the god of change, revolution.
The Sun to Uranus is also part of a series of astrological aspects that have been working its way through the first days of January. First we had a conjunction of Sun and Pluto on January 7. Then the Sun moved in alignment with Uranus and tomorrow Jupiter. This will cap off with a full moon on Thursday, January 12 that will activate a cardinal grand cross.
When we are presented with high stress astrology, it’s good to check in with ourselves. We need more reflection, more self care, more meditation. You may be feeling an old knot come up this week or a sticky emotional issue that touches deeply on the past, on family, ancestry, memory, security, and connection. The full moon will be in Cancer, a sign that touches on some of humanity’s most fundamental experiences. In short, the full moon is hitting us at our core.
So if you feel your emotions spilling out this week, get centered, get grounded. Is your root chakra connected to the earth? What change do you need to make? And, lastly, how can you use Uranus’s spark to see yourself and see your life differently?
