Jupiter turns retrograde at 21 Gemini, the beginning of a second look at what we’ve learned and discovered since late May. Over the next four months we will examine our decisions, we’ll re-explore Gemini, a sign about education, communication, and information.
Classically speaking, Jupiter is not at home in Gemini, the sign of its “detriment”. That’s because Jupiter “rules” Sagittarius and Gemini is opposite Sagittarius. A technical point, yes, but a point that helps us to understand Jupiter in Gemini.
If Jupiter is wisdom and knowledge, then in Gemini it needs to get back to fundamentals. Is something true? Or was it assumed? It’s also a second look at the choices we’ve been making as Gemini is the sign of curiosity as well as duality. (Read Jupiter in Gemini: Sign by Sign.)
All the planets have a key role in building our lives. But one of the things I love about Jupiter is that it inspires us to want more, to grow beyond ourselves, to discover and make our world bigger. Without the energies of Jupiter, we would keep our lives very small. We wouldn’t travel — literally and metaphorically.
Even though Jupiter is turning retrograde, it’s a week to think big, to imagine our lives larger, to dream of greater horizons.
