The Moon crosses from Gemini to Cancer, making one final rendezvous with Jupiter in Gemini for another 11 years. Our great voyage with Jupiter in Gemini is nearing a close. Next month, Jupiter will arrive in Cancer for a year-long visit.

Every planet has a role to play, each tracing out a path in the heavens at their own pace and rhythm. The Sun’s role is to give life and to illuminate, spending about 30 days in each zodiac sign. On the other end of the spectrum is Jupiter, spending about a year in each zodiac sign. Its role is to inspire us to look beyond ourselves, to seek and explore, to question and find answers. It’s through Jupiter that we grow, not necessarily in size, but through wisdom.

Classically speaking, Jupiter is not at home in Gemini. It’s in the sign of its “detriment”, which is to say that it is in the sign opposite Sagittarius, the sign that it rules. This means that Jupiter has to work counter to its instincts. Instead of having all the answers, Jupiter instead has to try new things and consider different points of view.

Two weeks from now, Jupiter arrives in Cancer, the sign of its exaltation. (As a technical side note, I love the exaltations in astrology; they give deeper insight into the motivations and archetypes of the planet.) Jupiter does its best work in the sign of home and family. It inspires us to find emotional connection, to put down roots, to create a family. We may be graced with increased support through family or those who are like family.

Jupiter will be in Cancer from June 9, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for May 29, 2025.
