Venus arrives in Aries, a sign where the planet of negotiation and compromise learns to go after what it wants. This is a Venus of power and desire, of courage and bravery. While not traditionally at home in Aries, Venus uses its charm instead to motivate.
For the better part of the next five months, Venus will be in Aries. That’s because we’re coming up to Venus’s semi-regular retrograde, which will cross from 10 degrees Aries back on March 1 to 24 degrees Pisces on April 12, returning to Pisces on March 27 and back to Aries on April 30. Venus doesn’t leave Aries until June 6.
Retrogrades are part of the ebb and flow of life. The universe is yin and yang, inhalation and exhalation. While we shouldn’t have fear and anxiety about a retrograde, we should understand what Venus Retrograde is trying to teach us.
Retrogrades are a yin phase of energy and Venus Retrograde is a review of the past, an uncovering of something hidden, and an attempt to retrace our steps. If Venus is the planet of material resource and value, love and relationships, then we will likely retrace our steps in that domain of our lives. It’s not uncommon for a past flame to resurface or an old relationship pattern come up for review. Something we thought was of value perhaps needs a rethink.
Aries and Pisces are two interesting signs because they represent the start and the end of the zodiac — beginnings and culminations. That’s a pattern we were seeing late last year and into January with the North Node crossing from Aries to Pisces. We’ll see this pattern again with Saturn crossing from Pisces to Aries on May 24 and back to Pisces on September 1. It’s part of the same story.
We’re in a period of endings and beginnings. What’s important in our lives? What do we want to leave behind and what do we want to invest in? Who do we want to invest in? After all, Venus is the planet of relationship and partnership.
Since Uranus is direct at 23 Taurus, as of January 30, we may receive news about home and family or shed new light on our inner foundation now that Venus is in Aries. Further, Venus is the ruler of the October 2, 2024 solar eclipse at 10 Libra. Events from that time may take on a new form or push us to reevaluate.
