Welcome to the Taurus Full Moon, also a lunar eclipse. The spotlight is on all things Taurus — money, resource, material stability, and security. We’re more aware of the value of things, including our own value. The full moon is exact on November 19, 2021 at 3:57 am, 27 degrees Taurus-Scorpio. That’s 12:57 am Los Angeles, 8:57 am London, 9:57 am Johannesburg, 7:57 pm Sydney, and 9:57 pm Auckland.
If full moons naturally bring us to a decision point, a time when everything is illuminated, then an eclipse makes this even more. Something needs our attention. As a result we must take action. Eclipses can parallel some of the major milestones of our lives — the start of a relationship, a career change, a big move, the birth of a child, etc.
But eclipses can literally eclipse something out of our lives. One moment something or someone is here, the next they are not. Fortunes rise and fall. After all, eclipses bring us right to the threshold of fate.
This Taurus lunar eclipse isn’t exactly a stranger. In a way we’ve been working our way towards it ever since Uranus, the planet of awakenings and reinventions, entered Taurus back in May 2018, March 2019. The lunar eclipse galvanizes these shifts that began way back then with a powerful opposition between Mars in Scorpio and Uranus in Taurus.
That said, it’s in 2021 that we’re really feeling the push and pull between an old life and a new life. If the eclipse is a turning point in our Uranus in Taurus story, then it’s also a catalyst to take the next step forward into a new life.
We can’t forget that, bare minimum, the eclipse is an act of reinvention in our relationship with the material world. Taurus, by its nature, wants safety and stability. It wants a roof over our head, food in the kitchen, and that satisfied feeling that everything is taken care of. But it’s also a confrontation if we don’t have those things, a need to make necessary if not overdue changes. Venus, the ruler of the full moon, is in Capricorn. We have to get serious and make larger decisions about our lives.
With the full moon’s trine to Pluto, it’s possible to have a real transformation. Or to have a different mindset about wealth and power. But Pluto reminds us that we can’t go back, only forward.
