Welcome to the Cancer New Moon. It’s the time in the lunar calendar when we turn our attention to home and family, roots and foundation. Cancer activates our most primal needs, which is to be cared for by others.
We’re in the Dark of the Moon. Time to reflect on our choices and actions over the last four weeks. With a sextile between the Sun and Uranus, we may find a flash of brilliance in quiet moments. We just have to work to cultivate that stillness.
The Moon’s in quick thinking Gemini, especially with Mercury in Leo. It’s a flash of fire and air for an otherwise emotionally saturated Cancer Season. It also means we’re rounding out the lunar month and a story that began with the Gemini New Moon on June 18.
The Sun squares Chiron in Aries. Although the aspect is exact today, we may have been navigating an old pain this week, a thread that draws us back to previous emotions or experiences that continue to ache. It’s a day to find healing, to have the courage to move forward for the sake of ourselves and others.

Mars, the planet of drive and action, arrives in Virgo and gets to work with precision and detail. It’s time to organize our lives, put things in order, and start new projects. We’re seeking purity and perfection. This is a Mars that also wants to be of service to others.
