Welcome to the Gemini New Moon! It’s a solar eclipse, too! This is the time in the lunar calendar when we focus all things Gemini related — communication, education, thinking, learning, traveling. As the sign of choice, Gemini also helps us to weigh our options and see things from a different perspective. The new moon is exact on June 10, 2021 at 7:14 am EDT, 19 degrees Gemini. That’s 4:14 am Los Angeles, 12:14 pm London, 1:14 pm Johannesburg, 9:14 pm Sydney, 11:14 pm Auckland.
New moons are new beginnings. And when they’re a solar eclipse? Doubly so. Solar eclipses both conclude a previous six month cycle that began at the last solar eclipse and open us up to another.
What we can tell objectively is that the coming six months will be lived through a lens of Gemini, which is to say that we’ll be exploring life through the words we use, the conversations we have, the choices we make, and the places we go. Things may come in pairs. We may be feeling more curious or even restless. Regardless, things are going to start moving. (I did a deep dive on these eclipses in my recent webinar, the Eclipses of May & June 2021. You can still get the replay.)
In the chart of the solar eclipse we find the Sun and Moon in a square to Neptune, which adds another dynamic to things. If Gemini speaks to the mind, then Neptune speaks to veil between this world and the next. It can make Gemini more intuitive, sensitive, or even spiritual. But it can also distort, confuse, or enchant. Information may go viral, for better or worse.
Neptune reminds us that we’re not always in control. That we can make plans, but sometimes life … God … the Universe … has other ideas. With that in mind, we’re being asked to surrender our agenda. We can make choices, but they have to be Neptune approved. Which is to say, they have to feed our soul, contribute to the greater good, or help us to heal. If not, we may get stuck in an illusion or a flat out lie.
To add to this, Mercury is retrograde square Neptune. There’s work to be done over the coming six months. We have to be hyper aware of how we communicate, think, and share our ideas. My personal metric is, “Does this create, and empower, and uplift? Or does it cause suffering?”
Despite all this Neptune influence, we’re getting steady support in the form of a trine from Saturn in Aquarius, which is a lot more clear header. It also helps us to tap into Neptune’s visionary, mystical, and creative influence. If we have a vision of something powerfully new over this coming arc of time, call upon Saturn to help you to map out your ideas and take steps towards making it a reality.
