On July 4 we started a caustic lunar month that promised to show us our fears, the parts of ourselves that we’d rather not look at. Falling opposite Pluto, the new moon said that over the coming four weeks we’d be doing a lot of soul searching.
The Scorpio Moon touches on Mars today, giving us one last push in this Mars in Scorpio journey we’ve been on the last few months. Mars in Scorpio has been a look into the darkness, both internal and external. It hasn’t been easy to say the least.
Mercury arrives in Leo today, another hint that we’re inching our way out of emotional Cancer season. The planet of communication and travel joins with Venus in a sign that known for its fun, flirtatiousness, and performance. And hair, let’s not forget the hair.
Venus arrived in Leo today all flirty and playful and boy can we use it. The energy is still heavy, make no mistake, but at least we can enjoy Venus’s charms. Venus in Leo has a bit of a diva reputation, someone who enjoys the regal treatment.
The past week has been tense to say the least. If astrology tells us what time it is then the new moon last Monday pointed the clock toward themes of shadow, messy truths, and a profound state of death and rebirth.
I’m having one of those days when I don’t know what to say. It’s not that there isn’t something interesting to share about today’s astrology, but it seems a little myopic to talk about the Sun and Pluto, Venus and Chiron when the world is clearly on fire.
We’ve got a line up of powerhouse astrology today. First, the Sun and Mercury make an opposition to Pluto, something that make us face an ugly truth, see something dragged from the shadows, the underbelly. It could be our darkness, the collective’s … or both.
Can you feel the energy of creation/destruction? On one hand we recently had a new moon, a fertile time to seed new initiatives. On the other, the Sun and Mercury are approaching an opposition to Pluto, the planet of decay, death, and rebirth.
We had a doozy of a new moon yesterday. Falling opposite Pluto and trine Neptune — two outer planets that act as agents of consciousness and change — we’re gearing up for four weeks where we’ll have to face something head on.
So, Mars turned direct yesterday. Hooray! But there are still a few finer points to make, especially as the energy releases over the next few days like a dam. Careful to avoid arguments and other heated encounters. Instead, use Mars positively through physical exercise.
After ten weeks retrograde, Mars finally turns direct today. Phew! We’ve had to do some serious work on where we’re wrong, where our stubborn faith and nearsightedness have taken us of course. Hopefully we learned something.
