Welcome to the Aries Full Moon, the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on power and renewal. It’s a full moon for new beginnings as well as the actions required to start over. Individuality, leadership, motivation, and desire will also be key themes. The full moon will be exact on September 26, 2026 at 12:49 pm ET, 3 degrees Aries-Libra. That’s 9:49 am Los Angeles, 5:49 pm London, 6:49 pm Johannesburg, 10:19 pm New Delhi, 2:49 am Sydney on September 27, and 4:49 am Auckland.
Full moons are decision points. They put a matter into the light. They demand action and can be decisive. Additionally, events can occur around the time of the full moon. The seeds planted two weeks before, at the time of the new moon, come to fruition.
This particular full moon comes after a Virgo New Moon, one that has asked us to take stock of our lives and to tend to our day-to-day duties and responsibilities as well as our health and wellness. We may find that this full moon is a time to take action with a matter that came to light or an idea born around the time of the new moon.
That said, Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and when the Sun enters Aries, around March 19-21, it initiates the astrological new year. While the Sun is at the opposite end of the sky at the moment (the Sun will always be in Libra when there is an Aries Full Moon), we can’t forget that Libra forms an axis with Aries — two signs, Aries-Libra, that talk about relationship. Aries is the “I” and the individual. Libra is the “we” and the couple.
We may be navigating themes around relationship at the time of the full moon. Perhaps we’re trying to find a better balance between our needs and the needs of a partner. Or we are ready to strike out on our own under the power of Aries.
But what’s important about this full moon is two fold. One, it is conjunct Neptune in Aries and, two, it’s in the same sign as Saturn.
First let’s focus on Saturn, a planet that has been visiting Aries since February 13, 2026. Saturn is one of the major players in astrology, representing our priorities, our duties and responsibilities, but also our lessons and karma. Since February, we’ve had personal and collective work to do in Aries. Perhaps we’ve had to find our individuality. Or take on a heavy responsibility that feels ours alone. Or really step into a place of leadership and maturity.
Whatever Saturn in Aries means for us and our astrology (read Saturn in Aries: Sign by Sign as a refresher), that story is coming to the forefront with this full moon. For example, have we needed to have more courage of late? Then this full moon is a rallying cry and a call for courageous action. For some, especially if Saturn is prominently placed in their astrology, this full moon may mark major milestones, achievements, and transitions.
Then there’s Neptune in Aries. The full moon is just one degree of this evolutionary planet known for dissolving boundaries between this world and the next. There are high emotions and sensitivities at the time of the full moon. If Aries is about action, Neptune may instead speak to surrender or aligning our actions with a greater purpose.
When we look to Mars, the ruler of the full moon, we find it at 29 Cancer, the very end of the sign. This is to say that Cancer is on the receiving end of the full moon as well as its themes of home and family, past and memory, emotion and connections. The 29th degree evokes endings, a need for action that creates resolution, but also the emotions that come with endings.
Take special note that Mars is square Chiron in Aries. Along with Neptune in Aries, there are a lot of heightened emotions with this full moon. Will we have compassion to not lash out our emotions? Or the courage to seek healing and resolution? Time will tell.
