Mercury turns direct at 16 Cancer, the end of a three-week review of choices we make around self care, connection, and how we communicate our needs and emotions to others. Mercury also squares Saturn; a boundary may have to be drawn.
Every three months, Mercury turns retrograde, an opportunity for us to slow down and examine the choices and events that have marked our lives over the previous three months. Since retrogrades tap into themes around karma, part of our work during Mercury Retrograde is to tie up loose ends or see an issue or personal pattern from a different perspective.
Now with Mercury turning direct, what will we choose? What changes will we make based on our discoveries and inner reflections? (Mercury first turned retrograde June 29 at 26 degrees of Cancer.)
Notably, Mercury turns direct in a square to Saturn in Aries, a planet that will also flip from direct to retrograde on July 26, just a few days from now. Very often Mercury square Saturn can be a reality check. Or a realization of what our choices have created. We may need to draw a line or set a boundary or make a commitment.
Mercury will leave Cancer on August 9.
If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for July 24, 2026.
