The Moon travels from Libra to Scorpio today, activating the energies of Mars in Taurus. There may be an emotional intensity to our experiences today, one that may highlight themes of power and control, intimacy and vulnerability, matter and our material world.
Scorpio is a “fixed” sign, part of a set of signs that includes Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius. The fixed signs reflect the fixedness of our physical world, from money and resources and the systems that run our lives to emotional reliability and psychological bonds. These are signs that crave stability and can be resistant to change.
Earlier this year, in February, we had an Aquarius solar eclipse, which said that Aquarius, a fixed sign, would be an area of marked change, change that would reflect in the area of our astrology that Aquarius governs. Come August 12, we’ll have another solar eclipse in a fixed sign, Leo. Events in 2026 are transforming parts of our lives that normally we do not want to change.
In addition to the solar eclipse, Leo is also a sign that will be taking center stage in other ways in the second half of this year. First with Jupiter’s arrival in Leo next week, on June 30. Then, the South Node moves into Leo on July 26 followed by the aforementioned Leo solar eclipse at 20 degrees on August 12. Each of these aspects will have long-term effects into 2027.
You may be thinking, I’m not a Leo. How does this affect me?
Even if you are not a Leo Sun or rising, Leo is a sign that serves as a symbolic domain in your life. For example, it could be your relationship sign or your career sign or your sign of health and wellness. With so much happening in Leo in the second half of 2026, that area of our lives is about to step forward.
Take clues from today’s Libra Moon as it points us back to Venus in Leo, a planet that is acting as a prologue to a larger story.
