We start the week on the heels of a Scorpio Full Moon, one that may be creating internal waves. With Pluto Retrograde only a few days away, we continue to be in a space of emotional and psychic shifts. A dynamic square between Mars and Jupiter questions our faith.
To watch the sky as an astrologer is to watch many different cycles, some which intersect or mark new chapters of time. Today’s square between Mars in Aries and Jupiter in Cancer at 19 degrees begins to close out a cycle that began on August 14, 2024. (The Mars-Jupiter conjunction was at 16 Gemini.)
If Mars is the planet of action, the planet that inspires us to strike out on our own, then Jupiter is the planet that opens our horizons, helping is to grow as well as to want more out of our lives. A square between Mars and Jupiter can sometimes reflect a difference of opinion or even beliefs. On another level, we’re feeling a friction between what we want and the desire to have it right away instead of trusting the process.
And yet this is a closing square, a point in the cycle when we begin to see what we have built and a need to take responsibility for it. (The opening square was September 4, 2025. Mars was at 18 Libra and Jupiter at 18 Cancer. The opposition was January 10, 2026 at 20 Capricorn-Cancer.)
Amplifying this energy is a Sagittarius Moon, one that pulls on Jupiter in Cancer. I take this as a reminder that we have to keep our vision of what we want to create. If we can’t see it in our mind’s eye, then it’s hard to for it to come into reality.
Again, trust the process, but maybe the square is about recalibrating our vision.
