Mercury and Saturn join up in Pisces, a precursor to next month’s lunar eclipse in Virgo, on March 14. Saturn makes us aware of our boundaries, but also our maturity and growth. It’s a day of metrics, a measure of how far we’ve come, and where we need to go.
For me, Mercury conjunct Saturn is an aspect where we have to be the master of our Mercury. Which is to say, we need to be the master of our thoughts, words, choices, and decisions. In astrology there are two planets that govern our growth — Jupiter and Saturn. With Jupiter, our growth comes through exploration, education, and discovery. With Saturn, our growth comes with time and the lessons that time and life can bring.
Saturn makes things concrete. With Mercury, we need to draw a line and say no to what is not for us or no longer serving us. Or, we make a commitment, saying yes to what we want to etch in stone, so to speak. Either way, Saturn makes for sobering realities, even in Pisces, a sign that can sometimes be in the clouds.
As mentioned before, it’s a precursor to the Virgo Full Moon lunar eclipse on March 14 at 23 degrees. Listen for what you are being called to make a commitment to, where you can serve and help others, the areas of life that need sobriety or detailed attention. Both Pisces and Virgo are the helping and healing signs. We are trying to find the balance between heaven and earth.
To get you ready for this latest Eclipse Season, I’m doing a two-hour live presentation, The Eclipses of March 2025, on March 5 at 8pm ET. Recorded for replay. In it I’ll be discussing why eclipses are some of the most important astrology to pay attention to and what it means for each of the signs. Learn more and register.
