Aries is not only a fire sign, but it’s the first fire sign. In astrology, there are four elements — fire, earth, air, water — a sequence that is important to remember. If we want something to be real in our lives (earth), it first has to be fire … a desire. Fire has to be felt, like an ignition. Otherwise we lack the fuel to manifest our wishes and dreams.
Aries is primal fire, the fire that gets us out of bed in the morning. It’s willpower and healthy drive and competition. But it can also be combative, aggressive, and domineering. It’s just something to keep in mind when we feel fire as something destructive. Harness fire for creativity and construction.
(For those more technically minded, a reminder that Mars is exalted in Capricorn, which in turn reminds us that the energy of Mars is best used when it it’s to build and construct for the future.)
