Fresh off a Gemini New Moon, we’re ready to move. Gemini inspires us to explore the world around us, to ask questions, to walk around, or to even take trips. A Saturn square, however, demands serious decisions.
There’s an interesting dynamic in the sky right now. With five planets in Gemini, there’s a focus on a sign that is known for its youthful curiosity. Yet, at the same time, all these planets are squaring, or making a 90 degree angle, to Saturn in Pisces, a planet that speaks to accountability and the process of growing up and growing older.
Yes, we’re feeling a push to learn and discover, but Saturn says that we have to make wise decisions right now. Whatever we choose has to set us up for the future. We need to honor our commitments. We need to set boundaries where needed.
As much as Gemini is about the multiplicity of life and the joy of trying everything, Saturn is about putting things into order and structure.
Saturn aspects also can mark major personal milestones and live passages. We may be turning a corner as we go into the weekend. We may be marking an achievement or need to end something that is not working. Saturn is also the planet that you see active when we graduate, get married or start a serious relationship, have a baby, make a major move, or make a career change.
The milestones of life are what build our lives.
Also this weekend, Mars arrives in Taurus after six weeks in Aries. If Mars is the planet of action and drive, it will now use this energy through the lens of Taurus, which is to say, Mars slows down in Taurus. It takes its time. It can be cautious, purposeful, and deliberate. It also is a very sensual Mars that loves to taste, touch, etc. It uses its energy to create stability and security in the material world.
