Mars squares Uranus today, a tense aspect that starts our week off with an edge. These planets combined have been known to disrupt, upend, and cause accidents. But they can also give us an opportunity to make changes and push through blocks with determined vision.
If you recall, Mars is in Leo and its passage of Uranus in Taurus picks up a story that’s been with us for a few years by now. Uranus is reinvention, sometimes radically so. And it’s been focusing its energies of reinvention on the sign of Taurus — money, income, material stability, resources — since May 2018, March 2019.
Even if you aren’t a Taurus, Taurus governs over a particular part of your life. And that part may not look anything like it did in 2018. (Read Uranus in Taurus: Sign by Sign to get a reminder of where.) Today’s square is an echo back to that time as well as a thread to the conjunction of Mars and Uranus on August 1, 2022.
So, today may feel like a lightning bolt of awareness. Something may startle and provoke. Then again, maybe we need provocation, something that pushes us to take action. Just make sure not to rush. Later this week, on July 2, Venus will make the same square to Uranus, something that may shake up a relationship or connection.
In other news, Mercury arrives in Cancer today, a very different feel after Mercury’s speedy time through Gemini. If Gemini gives Mercury more of an analytical mind, then in Cancer it learns to think through the lens of feeling and empathy. It has a mind for the past, memory, and has an ability to listen to others.
