Mars makes its second square to Pluto, two planets that are like an evolutionary force combined, bringing great pressure to change. Don’t be surprised if something old — anger, aggression — comes up. Pluto can reveal and transform something previously hidden.
If you recall, Mars has been retrograde since September 9 and we’re in the midst of a two month period where we have to do Mars differently, which is to say we have to take action, wield our power, use our drive from a different approach.
A retrograde is also a time of reflection, touching on our past relationship with that planet’s archetype. If we’ve been afraid to assert ourselves in the past, Mars Retrograde may help us change that. But if we use our will or our anger in a way that disregards others, we may have to look at the karma of our actions during this period.
That said, today may be a touch point in this process of change and transformation. Pluto digs deep into our hidden relationship with Mars, exposing old anger, resentments, and fears … all so we can release it because it’s is no longer needed. Give this energy a positive outlet. Both Mars and Pluto are very physical, needing exercise or other physical activities.
In other news, this weekend the Sun squares Jupiter, an aspect that can mean that we’re overdoing things. It can be very creative, but also overly indulgent. Venus trines Uranus, too. Relationships may get a positive surprise or unexpected support.
