It’s Taurus Season, a time in the calendar when we turn our attention to the earth beneath our feet. Taurus connects us to the material world, from the rich, fertile soil that bears life to the food and shelter we need to survive. As the second sign of the zodiac, Taurus literally grounds us and reconnects us to the energy of abundance.

This season is a bit different than usual. After coming out of April’s Venus Retrograde, we’re still sorting through its lessons of self worth and value. And Venus in the sign of Aries lends a bit of a feisty energy to this month. If Taurus is the sign of acquisition, then we’re certainly going after what we want and not apologizing for it courtesy of Venus in Aries.

We’re also coming out of Mercury Retrograde on May 3, which means that communication and travel may be wonky in the beginning of the month. Personally I like to adopt a zen attitude when my computer stops working or my train suddenly goes out of service — a couple of typical Mercury Retrograde experiences. All we can do is go with Mercury’s flow, like watching a toddler have a meltdown and not getting caught in the drama.

Speaking of meltdowns — or potential meltdowns — the energy this month is a bit hot. Venus and Mercury are in Aries, Mars is in Gemini. This can make for argumentative energy, the sort that causes someone to blurt something out or reveal something that has previously been surprised. And if you own a car, be careful of aggressive driving while you’re out on the road.

May will also bring a Scorpio Full Moon, a sign known for its deep secrets and intense emotions. Again, Mars is in Gemini and while Scorpio usually likes to keep things close to the vest, Gemini is all to happy to spill the beans so to speak. Use Scorpio’s energy for transformational work, from a revealing session with a therapist to emotional alchemy through talking to a trusted confidant to journaling.

Lastly, Mars and Saturn will face off on May 29, a heavy hitting alignment of planets. Whatever we began on or around the conjunction on August 24, 2016 has reached either its limit or foregone conclusion. And, for a quick refresh, Saturn has been in Sagittarius since September 2015, teaching us deep lessons around faith, truth, and how we see the world. The opposition to Mars will be a check in on our progress. How’s our faith? What do we belive in? How do we see the world? Do we need new information?

Aries

March 21–April 19

Aries Glyph

It’s all about communication this month! With Mars, your ruling planet, moving through Gemini, you’ll definitely have something to say. Mars and Gemini can make for restless, antsy combo so make sure you have a positive outlet for it this month, from walks around the neighborhood to journaling or catching up on your reading. What you want to be careful of, especially after Mercury turns direct in Aries on May 3, is blurting something out or being a bit aggressive with your words. Mercury may be a bit argumentative or unpredictable for the first half of the month, especially around May 10. Which brings me to a couple of bigger influences. One, Saturn has been carving a path through Sagittarius since 2015, pushing you to figure out what you believe in and defining how you see the world. With communication highlighted this month, May will be a time for you to express these beliefs through writing, teaching, or other forms of sharing. Two, the lunar north node slipped into Leo, which means that over the coming year and a half you’re working to develop a stronger sense of self, to create, and express your individuality and talents. You’ve been through a lot the past few years, Aries, and it’s undoubtedly changed you in profound ways. Time to reveal the new you. Having said that, Taurus Season is a time for you to get back to basics. For all of Gemini’s air and Aries’s fire, life may feel a bit hot this month. Taurus will be a reminder to make sure your feet are firmly and intentionally on the ground lest you go running off without thinking. If Taurus is the sign of stability, the full moon in Scorpio on May 10 — Taurus’s opposing sign — will shine a light on anything that makes you unstable. What are your fears? What’s in your shadow? The full moon will merely show you what’s deep in your psyche. Don’t be afraid to open up to a trusted confident and be vulnerable. Money and finance will also be a major theme. Do what you can to build your assets and create a solid ground for your life. By the end of May, you’ll have a major check in with Saturn, the planet entrusted in making sure you sticking to your responsibilities and commitments. Make sure everything is above board and you’re on your best behavior. You’ll also see the fruits of something you began on or around August 24, 2016. Taurus

April 20–May 20

Taurus Glyph

Happy birthday, Taurus! The good news is that Venus, your ruling planet, is finally out of retrograde! If you felt like the past couple of months were a little funky, it’s because Venus was poking around in some of your deepest emotional material. Maybe you did a lot of soul searching in March and April. Maybe you retreated from the world to rest or recuperate. Although Venus turned direct on April 15, you’re still coming out of this sluggish time. Just take it easy, spend time time around your birthday meditating or reflecting on what you want to create in the new year. You may be tying up loose ends or tending to the past in the meantime. Since you’re a Taurus, make sure lock in some self care time with a spa treatment. (As a heads up, Venus will arrive in Taurus on June 6, a much needed restart.) One of the other main areas of focus this month will be your relationships. The full moon on May 10 will put the spotlight on your romantic partnerships as well as how you interact with other people. You may have a decision to make about a connection or a mate, one that touches on money, stability, and trust. In fact money is another area getting some action this month. With Mars heating up your money sign of Gemini, spending and income will be a main priority. You may have some sudden news or opportunities around the new moon on May 25 — opportunities to make money or make a financial change. Note that finance, from wealth and assets to debt and taxes, has been a much bigger focus, ever since Saturn arrived in your chart’s finance zone back in September 2015. You’ve had to learn some hard lessons around value and power, something that can strikes a nerve, Taurus. You will have a big check in with this area of your life on or around May 29 when Mars and Saturn face off. What have you learned about ownership? Trust? What you are worth? Another thing to note is that you’re entering a year and a half period that will bring you to a crossroads. We all have those moments in life when we have to make a left or a right. Yours is coming, Taurus, especially this summer. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Gemini

May 21–June 20

Gemini Glyph

Hello, Gemini! Do you have something to say? Places to go and people to see? With Mars in Gemini this month, you’ll be feeling more restless, chatty, and curious than usual. Mars isn’t exactly known for it’s chill demeanor, so you may be a little louder, too. And with Mercury finally get out of retrograde on May 3, whatever you’ve been holding in may come spilling out. Seeing how Mercury is your ruling planet, it’s merge with Uranus on May 10 will give you to push to leave something behind or make a break, maybe a friendship or a group connection. But on a bigger picture, your sense of the future is shifting this month. Certainly this past retrograde cycle has given you a lot of material to sort through and insights to take in. Now that it’s Taurus Season, you’re pulling inward, reflecting on the previous year and resting before taking on another birthday. True to your dual nature, you’ll feel pulled between high and low swings of energy. It’s just because one part of your life is getting a reset button while the other needs some time to figure things out and recuperate. The full moon on May 10 will put health and wellness in the spotlight. Make sure you’re tending to your body this month, eating right, and getting exercise. The full moon will also put work in the hot seat as well. You may have a decision to make about a job or a project, especially a creative one or one that showcases your talents. Then on May 16 Mercury will dip into Taurus, a sign that will remind you to take it slow for the rest of the month, even after the Gemini New Moon on May 25, which usually signals the beginning of a personal new year. Again, you’ve got some loose ends to figure out before you can get really moving. One of those areas you’ll have to figure out is a relationship. A face off between Mars and Saturn on May 29 will either mark a major milestone between you and a partner or will be a test of whether the connection will last. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Cancer

June 21–July 22

Cancer Glyph

Who are your friends? Your community? Who do you need to network with? Taurus Season is a time in your personal calendar when you reach out to make connections, especially with like minded people. But as you come out of April, you may be wondering who your friends are and who you can trust. There’s been a lot of planets going back and forth of late. As they’ve done so, they’ve touched on sensitive topics. This month you may find yourself doing some soul searching and pulling back. With Mars, the planet of action, dipping behind the scenes, you may feel a little low on energy or motivated to get quiet and answers within. Another area that you may be reconsidering or making changes is career or your direction. Mercury’s direct turn on May 3 could bring news about your profession life or a decision about where to take your career. In fact, you may not be spending a lot of time at home this month with all the action taking planets either in your professional life or within your community and network. The full moon on May 10 will put your talents and your creative endeavors on display. With career getting attention this month, one of the themes will be about how you set yourself apart from others. We all have talents and gifts, the things that define us as individuals. Maybe you’re feeling a call to do something more creative in your professional life or something that fuels your passion. As a Cancer, you’re driven by emotions and when you’re heart isn’t in something, well, forget about it. So make sure you’re doing something this month that really lights you up, even if you’re nurturing and incubating it on the side. After all, you’ve had the planet Uranus up in your career sign of Aries since way back in 2011. You’ve been in this six year story of completely reinventing yourself professionally. And if Uranus demands anything it’s authenticity. Don’t be afraid to be bold this month, even as you take a break, rest, and mull over your next step. Whatever you decide, you’ll have a major check in with Saturn on May 29. You’ll need his blessing if you’re going to take your ideas and make them a reality. If you’re looking for a new career direction, Saturn will push you to take measured, concrete action. Look to June for things to really start moving professionally. Leo

July 23–August 22

Leo Glyph

What are your goals and ambitions? With the Sun reaching up to the highest point of your chart this month, it’s all about securing your place in the world, from making gains in your career to getting recognized for your many Leo talents. But career’s been an area in your life that may have had a few bumps over the past couple of months. That’s because Venus, your career planet, was in retrograde. And when a planet is in retrograde, you have to rethink — or in this case revalue — what you want to create in the world. To take it a little further, the past couple of months really boiled down to some soul searching and maybe some shaken faith. Venus will retrace its steps this month, bringing you back to events from March, giving you an opportunity to see your goals and ambitions from a different perspective. Use this month to revisit the philosophy or beliefs that guide you as well or get the education you need to take your career to the next level. As much as May will pull you out into the public, pushing you to make connections both professional and personal, the full moon on May 10 will put home and family in the spotlight. For all your worldly ambitions, you need to make sure your foundation is solid. And the home as well as the people closest to you creates the support for everything in your life. Make sure you’re tending to your roots, creating a stable home, and nourishing your emotional core. The full moon may bring news about a move or a change in your living situation. As you get later into the month, the narrative will start to shift toward the future. Meaning, what is your bigger vision for the year? The next five years? Who are going to be the allies to help you create that vision? As you think big, you’ll have a major check in with Saturn on May 29. Saturn is the planet entrusted with making sure that whatever vision you have has a solid plan to execute it. The end of the month will have a serious feel to it, but we all have those moments in life when we have to get real. Saturn will help you cut through a lot of the BS. It’s also important to mention that Saturn has been pushing you over the past two years to take your talents seriously. Don’t underestimate yourself this month, Leo. Virgo

August 23–September 22

Virgo Glyph

We all go through those times in life that try us, shake our confidence, and force us to look within. Seeing how Mercury, your ruling planet, has been getting deep the past few weeks, you’ve been working through themes around trust, intimacy, and fears. What have you learned about yourself? As you come into May, the Sun will shine its light on faith and philosophy. We don’t know what we believe in until it’s tested. Somewhat related, you may feel inspired to travel, searching for the wisdom or experiences that will enrich you on an emotional and spiritual level. If you can’t travel in May, satisfy your need for new horizons by taking a workshop or reading up on other cultures. Another area seeing action this month is your professional life. With Mars heating up Gemini, your career sign, it’s time to get moving with your ambitions and achievements. Use this energy to leverage your status, take on new responsibilities, and be a leader. Money may be wrapped up in this as well and you may be keenly aware of using your position or career to gain more financial resources. The full moon on May 10 may bring professional news — news about a job or trip for work. There may be an element of the unexpected in this full moon, something that feel sudden or possibly confrontational. Writing and communication will also be highlighted at this time. If there’s something you’ve been holding back from saying, it may come tumbling out with the full moon. Lastly, once the Sun arrives in Gemini on May 20, it will be a reminder that for all your worldly ambitions, you have to make sure your home base is solid. In fact, ever since Saturn moved in with you back in 2015, you’ve been doing a lot of heavy lifting around themes of home, family, and connection. A face off between Mars and Saturn on May 28 will be a big check in with this work you’ve been doing. In order to truly nourish the roots of your life, you have to make sure you’re watering them with the things, people, and experiences that truly matter. Libra

September 23–October 22

Libra Glyph

Relationships continue to be a big focus right now, an area that, as a Libra, is already very important. Libra, after all, is a sign that naturally expresses who it is through partnerships and connecting with other people. Having said that, when you look back at the past couple of months, what do you notice about the relationships of your life? Were they stressful? Did past lovers or past connections come back up for you to take a second look at? Were you more aware of your relationship patterns than ever? With Venus Retrograde for most of March and into April, you had work to do surrounding how you interact with people, work that touched on intimacy, power, control, and your fears. You may have even discovered that the people you attract into your life reflect the parts of yourself you’re not able to express. So, now that you’re in May, take all the wisdom and insights you gained over the past couple of months and put it into action. Don’t be afraid to have difficult conversations and be vulnerable with a mate, but also set healthy boundaries. Looking to the full moon on May 10, you will have a decision to make about money or income. After all the ups and downs of the past few years, have your values shifted? Mars, a key player in your astrology this month, will point you toward bigger, philosophical questions around material wealth. You may have to take a second look at your beliefs about money, opening up to a new perspective or vision of what is possible to achieve. When the Sun arrives in Gemini on May 20, you may start to feel a bit restless as you turn your attention to distant lands and foreign shores. Gemini is one of your travel signs and you may be planning a trip as a result. Lastly, and touching on a much bigger theme, a face off between Mars and Saturn on May 28 could put you at ideological odds with someone. Ever since Saturn arrived in Sagittarius in 2015, you’ve been working hard to develop your voice as well as educate yourself. The showdown between Mars and Saturn may also be a moment when you have to demonstrate what you’ve learned as well as what you believe, even if others don’t agree with you. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Scorpio

October 23–November 21

Scorpio Glyph

Taurus season is relationship season for you, Scorpio. After all, Taurus is the sign that teaches you about connection, so it’s natural to turn your attention to other people during this time of year. Then again, Mars was in Taurus for most of April plus a Venus Retrograde that dragged up sticky interpersonal issues. (Ugh.) But here we are in May and the Sun is giving you a second chance at cooperation and relationship. Just make sure you’re doing your due diligence with other people, from romantic partners to the people you connect with. Just use your discernment and set healthy boundaries where applicable. (Heads up, Venus’s square off with Pluto on May 25 could show you the shadowy side of love and relationships, something that needs to be healed.) That said, the full moon in Scorpio on May 10 will be all about you. It will also touch on deep themes around trust and intimacy, especially as they relate to identity and sexuality. And that’s the thing, as a Scorpio you’re willing to ask the tough questions of yourself and look at the difficult facets. The full moon will poke into the deepest parts of yourself, so be prepared to do your Scorpio work, casting aside whatever doesn’t serve you anymore. Another area getting your attention is money and your material needs. You know, food, shelter, and the income to purchase them? You’ve been laying a lot of financial ground work over the past two years courtesy of Saturn, who has been scrutinizing your spending as well as your long term financial goals. If you’ve made a lot of hard earned gains, then Saturn will want you to take it to the next level with new investments. If you’ve had difficulty getting organized financially, May will be the time to tend to this. Make sure you’re thinking big picture and building the framework to achieve these goals. When Mars and Saturn face off on May 29, you will have a big review of your progress with Saturn. Is your framework strong? Or do you need to get back to basics? Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

How are you doing, Sag? Trying to figure things out? Weighed down by the responsibilities of life? With Saturn nearing the end of its run through Sagittarius, you may be feeling a little fatigued. Over the last two or so years Saturn has been really pushing you, like a good personal trainer, to reach your highest potential. That just means that you haven’t had a chance to relax in, say, forever. Keep this in mind because Taurus Season is the time in your calendar when you have to get back to basics, get organized, and make sure your daily life is running smoothly. With all the things you have to do, how will you streamline? Also, diet and self care go hand in hand with personal performance. Make sure you’re tending to your body this month as well as looking at any patterns of belief that negatively affect nutrition and wellness. Then again, maybe all you really need is a fabulous massage this month. Now that Venus is back in Aries after a frustrating retrograde, you’re in an indulgent mood. Having said that, your spiritual life will need attention this month just as much as the body. The full moon on May 10 will highlight the quieter side of life — prayer, meditation, and a need to let go. Your release work may touch on relationships, especially old emotional patterns that complicate your experiences with other people. Do your sacred work this month, Sagittarius. After all you’ve been through, you have to tend to the heart and the soul in order to feed the positive changes you’ve made. Speaking of relationships, Mars has been heating up your relationship sign of Gemini. Toss in a Mercury Retrograde and either you’re dealing with past romances or looking to make a change. Keep an eye on the days around May 3 when Mercury turns direct, activating Mars and it’s blustery energy. On one hand you’re really motivated to make connections this month. On the other, Mars can bring tension to relationships as long simmering issues come to a head. You may be drawing a line this month with someone in your life as a result, especially when Mars faces off with Saturn on May 29. Something that you began in late August 2016 has reached either its limit or foregone conclusion. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Daily life, organization, schedule, discipline, projects, details, health, wellness, the body, relationships, other people, romance, lovers, career, direction, recognition, breakthrough, transformation, evolution, spiritual life, retreat, rest, recuperation, endings, letting go, release, meditation, quiet, sleep, the unconscious.

Capricorn

December 22–January 19

Capricorn Glyph

You could use a break, Capricorn. Thankfully Taurus Season is a time for you to relax and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. It’s also a wonderful time to create, make art, perform, and show off your talents. With the energy of Taurus pointing towards home and family, you may be spending time this month nesting with the people closest to you or bringing beauty and harmony to the home. Having said that, as much as May will be about play, you’ll have to get to work as well. (You’re a Capricorn. You got this.) Projects will be a main focus this month from home improvement and organization to work within your community. Mars will heat up health and wellness, too, so make sure you’re tending to your body with new fitness initiatives and detoxes. (If you really want to set some goals, use the energy of the new moon on May 25 to get a fresh start in your daily life.) Switching gears, the full moon earlier in the month, on May 10, will shine a light on friendships and community. You may have a decision to make about someone in your social circle or a friend may need your help. You may be called upon to be of service to your community as well. But let’s talk about some big picture stuff. You’re in the last stretch of a long 2-3 year chapter that’s been marked by existential crisis and spiritual development. This has probably been one of the toughest times in your life because Capricorn prefers to have its feel firmly on the ground. Instead life’s been a little hazy, unfocused, and you don’t have the same connection to life that you had before. Make sure that you’re tending to your spiritual health this month as well as your physical, especially as you grapple with themes of faith, meaning, and truth. Be open to a personal revolution or breakthrough this month; Saturn and Uranus will inspire you to see life with different eyes. Lastly, a showdown between Mars and Saturn on May 29 will bring to a head this bigger theme around faith, commitment, and service. You may also have a decision to make about your living situation or your family. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Talent, the self, identity, self expression, children, family, home, connection, foundation, roots, emotional security, inner circle, your core, projects, work, service, the community, goals, aspirations, the future, social network, friends, health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, getting organized, daily life, schedule, spiritual life, inner exploration, meditation, retreat, rest, reflection.

Aquarius

January 20–February 18

Aquarius Glyph

Taurus is your sign of home and family. If you were to look at your chart, the map of the heavens on your birthday, Taurus is literally at the bottom forming the foundation and roots of your chart. When it’s Taurus Season, it’s a natural time in your calendar for you to nest and get back to basics in the home. What do you need to create a stable, comfortable home? The past couple of months have likely brought a disruption or change in the home as Venus Retrograde pushed you to reevaluate where you plant yourself literally and metaphorically. Now that things are moving forward this month, busily so, you can take all the insights you gained and shore up your emotional core, the roots that keep you well anchored in life. Taurus Season tends to be a quiet, insular time, but you may be running around town more so than usual this month, especially in the first half of May. The full moon on May 10 will turn a spotlight on career and your place in the world. The days around the full moon will be a natural time for you to gain recognition, hear about a career change, or make a decision about what path you want to take life. The full moon will also highlight responsibilities and the sacrifices we often have to make. More importantly, the full moon will draw an underline around your talents and how you share them with the world, especially the value of your talents. The new moon on May 25 will open up a lunar month focused solely on creativity and self expression. Normally this is a time in your personal calendar when you can kick back and enjoy yourself. But with Saturn in a face off with Mars on May 29, you will have a serious check in with your career. What needs to change? What’s the next milestone. You may feel as though you’ve reach a limit or see the fruits of your professional labors. Note that you’re coming to last stretch of a chapter that started in 2015, one where you’ve been looking to build community, friendships, and alliances. Again, the end of May will be a check in on your progress. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Pisces

February 19–March 20

Pisces Glyph

What a year it’s been so far, Pisces. And it’s only May. With your ruling planet Jupiter locked in a tight angle with Pluto, you’ve been doing a lot of deep, emotional soul searching. Your favorite, right Pisces? The good news is that all of this isn’t for nothing. It’s an important process for you to look at your fears, your anxieties, anything stuffed away in the corner of your psyche, and release it. When Jupiter arrives in a new sign in October, you’ll be a new person in a way. Until then you’re working hard. Saturn’s been pushing you to bigger responsibilities and higher ambitions since 2015. Saturn has also brought professional milestones as well as a need to define your role in society. As much as this year — and the last — have been about carving out a place for yourself, May will bring you back home. Mars’s arrival in Gemini in late April brought a noisy addition to your living situation. Maybe you’re gearing up for a move or making improvements to the home. If you’re making any changes, you may be wondering if it’s worth it, specifically the first two weeks of May. That said, Taurus Season also brings in the energy of travel. It’s a natural time for you to get out in your neighborhood, enjoy nature, and explore. The full moon on May 10 will highlight long distance travel — trips to faraway lands and foreign shores. It may also bring in some restless, impulsive energy as well, so take note of any sudden needs to break free or cut out of a relationships or connection. The full moon and the energy in the days surrounding it will also highlight education, especially how you see the world and how you your ideological values may clash with others. Then on May 25 the new moon will open a new chapter in your home and how you tend to your emotional needs. Since Pisces is such a giving sign, it’s easy for it to be always about other people. But what about you? A face off between Mars and Saturn on May 29 will highlight this tension. Make sure you work on your foundation this month. Because if it’s not solid, it can’t hold weight of your life. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.
