In many ways June is the month that we get real, the month we grow up a little more.

True, June is Gemini season, a sign that has a Peter Pan reputation and likes to keep things light, fast, and loose. Gemini is known to be chatty, curious, and keep its options open. But it’s also a sign that’s been under a fair bit of scrutiny since September 2015, the month that Saturn moved in Sagittarius and directly opposite Gemini.

We may not be a Gemini, but we’re certainly feeling Saturn’s gaze this month. As a result, we have to make a choice, one that will have a direct impact on our future. And, despite Gemini’s preference for choosing everything, Saturn will draw a line in the sand. What will we pick?

Here’s the thing we need to keep in mind about Saturn. He’s not a bad guy despite his overbearing demeanor. His primary function is to make sure we grow up, eat our vegetables, keep in line, have aspirations, and work hard to achieve those aspirations. Saturn goes hand in hand with the march of time. We feel our age with Saturn, but we also feel the satisfaction of having reached a long held goal.

The new moon on June 4 and the full moon on June 20 will set us up for a month where we’ll be taking our ideas and putting them into reality. Don’t forget to dream big, but also be clear about the steps you’ll need to take to get from Point A to Point B. Mars Retrograde for most of this month will mean that our ideas may be short on fuel so use June more of a time to plan than to act. When Mars turns direct on June 29, we’ll be be ready to launch into July. Not before having a revelation or flash of deep insight into the journey we’ve been on since 2014.

Aries

Aries

You’re almost there, Aries! This is the month that Mars, your ruling planet, will finally get out of its sluggish retrograde. Phew. That said, you still have to wait until June 29, but at least you can start counting down the days. In the meantime, here’s what you need to know. Although Mars has had you sorting through through themes of faith and truth, this month Mars will turn the narrative back to Scorpio, a sign with a bit of a dark streak if we’re being honest. Think back to the second half of February. Anything coming up from that time? Anything along the lines of finance? Wealth? Power? Secrets? Obsession? Sexuality? The psyche? Brutal honesty? The retrograde will give you a chance to revisit as well as purge something for good — and face a part of yourself in the process. In other news, the new moon on June 4 will have you getting serious with your education. Over the coming four weeks you may be hitting the books, working on your skills, and taking classes. The new moon will also highlight travel. As a result you may be planning a trip or running around town from appointment to appointment. (With Mars retrograde, you may need a shot of espresso to get you through your long to-do list.) Then on June 17 your relationship planet, Venus, will arrive in Cancer; you may be thinking about the kind of mate you want to attract in your life if you’re single. Or, if you’re in a relationship, you and a partner may be spending more time in the home, creating a nest, or interacting with family. The full moon on June 20 will be the big test you’ve been studying all month for. What have you learned? Are you ready to show the world what you believe in? Add the letters and titles to your name that come with increased education? Then, finally, Mars will turn direct at the end of the month. Hooray! Taurus

Taurus

What do you own? What are things you spend your money on? How do you make your money? What do you need to feel financially secure, stable? As an earth sign, you’re deeply connected to the physical world. That said, since about last September, you’ve been doing deep work on your fears around money and security as well as strengthening your wealth and assets. As much as this month is about your money, it’s part of a bigger conversation about money and resources from other people, from a partner’s money to debt, credit, loans, and benefits. A financial matter will need your attention, especially in the run up to the full moon on June 20. Do you and a partner need to make a major decision about the home? Buy a house or property together? If you are handing money matters on your own, what sort of foundation do you need in your life to thrive? And what are the things that will help you create that? In other news, when Venus, your ruling planet, changes signs on June 17, you’ll be spending the rest of the month focusing on education, travel, and communication. Don’t be surprised if the second half of June brings an uptick in emails, texts, and phone calls. Then, on June 29, Mars will station direct in your relationship sign of Scorpio. Something will heat up between you and a partner and you may feel spurred to take action. Scorpio also has a reputation for revelation. Don’t be surprised if something comes to light around that time. Want to learn more about how the astrology of June will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Gemini

Gemini

Happy birthday, Gemini! Are you in a more reflective mood than usual? Celebrations a little muted? Ever since Mercury, your ruling planet, entered Taurus on April 5, the cosmos has been pulling you behind the scenes to rest. Maybe you’ve been more interested in meditation and spirituality than being out there in the hustle and bustle. That’s because you have some deep questions to figure out — existential questions, relationship questions, questions about where to take your life next. A lot of things will converge this month starting with the Gemini New Moon on June 4. It will be both a new beginning for you as well as push to come up with answers to these serious questions. Nothing you need to be worried about, Gemini; there comes a time in everyone’s life when we have to take that next step up in maturity or responsibility. And this is the year where a lot of that growth and maturity will come through relationships and your interactions with other people. As a result, you may have gotten into a serious relationship in 2016, left a partnership, or had to work through deeper issues around your one-on-one connections with people as well as lovers. The full moon on June 20 will demand another answer to these questions. Activating your relationship sign, you will have a decision to make about a partnership, whether to take the next step together or leave it behind. The presence of Saturn in the full moon will mean that whatever you decide, it will have to be solidly grounded for the future. Want to learn more about how the astrology of June will affect you? This could be literal — eating better, going to the gym — as well as getting your life organized and tidy. Further, Mars has been heating your work life up since March, which is safe to say that you’ve been pulling overtime the past couple of months and in need of a break. So, will help to know that this month is the natural season of the year for you to go within and rest. Starting with the new moon on June 4, you may be feeling wistful, more sensitive than usual, and in need of the solitary. With that in mind, what habits or emotional patterns do you need to let go of? What’s your spiritual life like? Leo

What are your talents, Leo? Yes, Leo is a sign already known for its talents, but maybe you’ve taken them for granted in the past. That’s been changing though. In fact, ever since Saturn moved into Sagittarius, your sign of creativity and self expression, you’ve been working hard on getting clear about who you are and the talents you have to share with the world. So, with that in mind, Saturn will put the pressure on this month, especially around the new moon on June 4. You may feel like the cosmos is sitting you down for a major talk. Time to make some decisions, there’s no playing around. Where do you want to go in life? What do you want to be known for? Plus, you’ll need to get get those talents out there where people can see or experience them, whether performance or self promotion. Virgo

Virgo

If ever there was a sign that sacrifices so much it’s you, Virgo. (Actually you’re a close second to Pisces.) You work hard and put others first without the need for recognition, but — and let’s be honest — it sometimes gets to you. It’s hard to shake the burden of responsibility, perfection, and taking care of every last detail. This month you may be asking yourself, is this sustainable? Can you take care of your own needs in midsts of others? With that in mind, June will present a crossroads. The new moon on June 4 and a face off with the planet Saturn will put a major emphasis on career as well as your life’s direction. You may feel a tug between your ambitions and your responsibilities in the home, your external and internal world, your needs versus a partner’s needs. Additionally the heavy presence of Saturn this month will mean that you’ll have a major decision to make, especially around the full moon on June 20. Activating the very roots of your chart, something will need your attention in the home or with a family member. You may even feel exhausted, especially as Mercury and Saturn face off the same day as the full moon. Can you sacrifice more? Or have you reached your limit? Seeing how Virgo can sometimes be a little bit of a control freak (Sorry, Virgo. Love ya! Hi, mom!), what can you let go of? (I know, I know.) Libra

Libra, what do you know? Do you have the right skills? What about knowledge? This month, with its strong pull between the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius, will place a major focus on education. True, the academic year naturally wraps up this time of year, but education extends beyond traditional schooling. Instead, you may find that your career or ambitions need the right training and you may be looking into a specialized course or study this month. On June 4, the new moon will open up a lunar month that will push you to make a decision about your future as well as your direction in life. The other area that this new moon will highlight is travel. June will likely be a time when you will be looking toward other cultures or planning a long distance trip. The days leading up to the full moon on June 20 will demand a decision or attention with travel as well as education. A few days before, on June 17, your ruling planet Venus will reach into Cancer, which happens to be your career sign. Remember, all this talk of education is about getting you ready for the next big step in your career, which may shake out in July. Scorpio

Scorpio

Although having Mars back in Scorpio this month should be great for taking action and pushing your agenda, it’s retrograde. Meaning the your personal planet and the ruler of Scorpio, will be moving backwards into the end of the month. And when we look back, Mars has been retrograde since April 17, so you’ve been an extended period time of reflection, reworking, and reintegrating. (Retrogrades aren’t a bad thing. They just mean the flow of energy is pushing in instead of out.) That said, Mars will turn direct on June 29 and, until then, you’ve got some more work to do. Namely, figuring out how to do Scorpio in a way that is a teensy bit less destructive. I don’t have to tell you that Scorpio is a powerful sign. It’s just that all this power demands the highest integrity as well as consciousness. That’s the work, Scorpio. The new moon on June 4 will put an emphasis on this even more. Falling in your chart’s sector power, control, and secrets, you’ll be taking a deeper look this month at all the cards you hold close to the vest, the sort of things that you only share with a lover or close confidant. Whom do you trust? Can you be more vulnerable? The astrology of June will also put a lot of weight on money, wealth, finance, and security. Ever since Saturn moved into your money sign back in September, you’ve been trying to figure how to master your personal finance as well creating greater material stability in your life. The full moon on June 20 will bring a financial decision to the forefront and you may feel like you’re at a crossroads or making a big step as a result. Sagittarius

Sagittarius

Sag, June is going to be one of your big months in 2016. Although it may seem like a lot is happening behind the scenes — Mars is in Scorpio all month long, your sign of rest and retreat — but there’s a lot of furniture moving around in your life so to speak. Let’s start with your ruling planet, Jupiter. Perched up at the top of your chart, the astrology this year has been pushing you toward career, achievement, and being out there in the world. Jupiter in Virgo, your career sign, has been a workout, forcing you to get very clear and precise about what you want to do in the world. (And if you’re still unclear, get hustling. Jupiter will only be in this area until September.) Saturn has also been on you as well, working its way through Sagittarius since last year. You’re being pushed to grow up as well. Starting with the new moon on June 4, the narrative will move toward “other people” — your mates, your partners, your relationships. Just as you’ve been getting clear about what you want professionally, what do you want in a relationship? How do you also allow room for Spirit to show you something better? Then on June 20, you’ll have second full moon in Sagittarius in a month. This one will put the pressure on it. With all the hard work you’ve been doing since last September, what have you learned? Are you ready to take it to the next level? The full moon will give you a push. Then, on June 29, Mars will turn direct, sparking dreams and visions. Pay attention to your intuition. Capricorn

Capricorn

What is mysticism to you? The esoteric? With Saturn tucked away in Sagittarius, you’re half way through a two and a half year chapter of working through deep themes of belief and meaning. You’re on a spiritual journey within that has at times literally taken you away from the world. This is a quiet and reflective chapter in your life, one where you will shed old habits, recuperate, rediscover yourself and your place in the cosmos. However there will be times when you’ll be reminded that there is a world out there. You still need to pay your bills, tend to your daily routine, and go to work. The new moon on June 4 will put an emphasis on the more mundane aspects of life. This will be a great month to start a project, get organized, or get super granular about what you need to do in order to achieve your bigger career goals — with a caveat. Mars has been retrograde since April. Mars is the fuel and fire to take action in life and when it’s retrograde, which it does every two years, it’s a time when we can’t push forward. We have to sit still and take things in — very much the speed you’ve been in since last September when Saturn changed signs. So think of this month as more of a reworking, letting go in order to make space for the new until Mars turns direct on June 29. The full moon on June 20 will bring these deeper existential questions you’ve been chewing on to the forefront. Will it be a spiritual crisis or will everything start to make sense? Also note that sweet Venus will arrive in Cancer, your relationship sign on June 17, ushering a time of the year when it’s about connecting with other people — a mate, a lover, a partner. Enjoy. Aquarius

Aquarius

Bear with me, Aquarius. We’re going to look at the big picture for a moment so you can see how June fits into a larger narrative that’s been going on since 2014. Scorpio is your career sign, a sign that got a lot of play the past few years when Saturn put you through your paces to make something of yourself professionally. It was either a time when all the hard work paid off or a time when you had to restructure everything in your career. Why am I talking about 2014–2015? Because this month Mars will retrograde — aka retrace a path backwards in the sky — right back to a spot that Saturn occupied from November 2014 to September 2015. If astrology is just another way to tell time, you’ll be spending June taking a look back in your career, tying up loose ends, and looking at the actions you made last year. When Mars turns direct on June 29, you may be experiencing something in your career that touches back on that time, helps you move forward, or take new action. The other focus this month is on talents, creativity, and gifts. We all have them, Aquarius. What are yours? The new moon on June 4 will help you to discover if you are unsure. As a result, you may be wavering between finding yourself this month and feeling a need to express it to others. The full moon on June 20 may feel like the end of an era. Falling at a critical point, you may have a decision to make about the future and the friends or allies who will be a part of it. Want to learn more about how the astrology of June will affect you? Pisces

Pisces

What does home mean to you? Roots? With the planets gathering at the bottom of your chart, it’s a natural time to go within and nest. As a result, June will be all about where you live, family, and those you are closely connected to. (Yes, family is often a sensitive subject and you may feel a touch emotional this month, too.) The new moon on June 4 will pave the way for a move, a change in your living space, or an emotional shift — one that will mark a major milestone in your life. Caught in between Saturn, Neptune, and Jupiter, you may feel like you’re at a crossroads, the internal world pulling against your professional world as well as your relationships. Will you have to make a compromise or sacrifice for others? Can you have a fresh start? Will you and a mate decide to move in together? Keep an eye on June 12, the day that Mercury will arrive in Gemini. The story about your home will turn the page. Additionally, this month Mars will dig into the travel and education part of your chart this month. Seeing how Mars has been retrograde — aka moving backward — you may be waiting to hear about an education endeavor or long distance trip. When Mars turns direct on June 29, you may have more clarity about your direction. In the meantime, the full moon on June 20 will put career in the spotlight. You may have a decision to make about which direction to take your life in, how you want to define your role in society, or see the hard earned fruits of your labor. Ever since Saturn moved into the highest reaches of your chart in September 2015 you’ve been working super hard on making something of yourself in the world. The full moon will show you just how far you’ve come. Want to learn more about how the astrology of June will affect you? Book your consultation now.
