I’ve been thinking a lot about Neptune and the energy of redemption lately.
Whenever we encounter the energy of the outer planets there’s an act of surrender that has to happen. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto govern forces outside of the personal. We can’t do ego with the outer planets. So, with that in mind, know that we’re in a week filled with these archetypical energies. Something is changing, something is out of our control.
Even though I’m an astrologer and have an insight that others do not, I’m not immune from Uranus and Pluto myself. Mars, my ruling planet, made a square to Pluto on Sunday and will oppose Uranus tomorrow. Like clockwork, a story was set in motion for me — and likely for you as well.
But let’s go back to Neptune. (As I write this the Sun is an arc minute past my natal Neptune in Sagittarius.)
Neptune is a force of purification and redemption. First you have to cut through the illusions, the distortions, but ultimately Neptune brings you to a moment where you’re on your knees begging for a miracle. We’ve all had them, those powerful times of sincerity and capitulation when we’ve thrown our hands to the sky and prayed for something else or something new. Then, hopefully, we experience the redemptive powers of the divine.
Venus will trine Neptune on Friday, an influence that speaks to unconditional love and beauty. It just so happens that my Venus is not that far off from this trine.
I have a deep karmic story around my Venus in Scorpio. It’s retrograde and opposes Chiron in Taurus. I’m sharing all of this because I think the thing that people need to keep in mind about astrology and their own natal chart is that the story can shift. I’m seeing how my Venus can be redeemed, purified, wrought anew. But it takes the power of an outer planet to provoke, disassemble, and open up an opportunity for something new.
In this week of intense astrology, be open to this energy of redemption. Be open to Uranus’s spark of consciousness. Be open to Pluto’s total transformation and rebirth. We all want something new when it comes to love or career or money. So, are we ready to surrender?
