Welcome to Aries Season. We’re officially in a new astrological year and Aries has the honor of being the first sign. For that it’s a season of new beginnings, a time to move forward, a time for vitality. Ruled by the planet Mars, Aries connects us with courage and leadership.

Speaking of Mars, this Aries Season comes with a side of tenacity and determination. With Mars in Capricorn all month long, we’re learning patience and diligence. We’re working hard. We got our sights on the bigger prize and we’re coming up with a plan on how to reach new heights.

But April is going to be a bit of a bumpy road. Aries is a fire sign; it ignites and sets events in motion. Already we’re starting the month off with Mercury Retrograde, which means that we’re rewinding instead of moving forward, running counter to Aries’s natural flow. However, it’s a retrograde turn by Saturn on April 17 and another by Pluto on April 22 that will crank up the intensity mid month. As a result, life may be shifting gears with a few scrapes in the process.

Of course, this is nothing to be fearful of. It’s just that April will be demanding a lot from us, starting with a full moon in Libra on March 31 that will put a spotlight on relationships and set some hard boundaries for moving forward into April. With Saturn playing a strong role in the astrology of this month, we have to step up our game, which may mean taking on new responsibilities or getting our act together or setting our sights higher for achievement. After all, Saturn demands maturity and accountability.

Uranus gets a starring role in the Aries New Moon on April 15, a planet that likes to shock and awaken. Depending on where Aries falls in our chart, a particular area of our life may need to be rethought, reapproached, or done in a different way. Note that Uranus is coming to the end of its time in Aries after seven years and will move onto Taurus on May 15. Some signs, in particular Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, will feel rumbles and a restless sense that something is changing.

Lastly, the planet Chiron will change signs on April 17, leaving Pisces for Aries. Chiron is a little more of an esoteric influence, but nevertheless an important one, and it speaks to our psychic knots as well as our psychic pain — our personal pain that connects us to a collective experience. When Chiron enters Aries, we’ll be individually exploring our personal and collective pain around aggression, violence, and our inability to either defend ourselves or take action in our lives. It’s a abstract and subtle point to make, but understanding Chiron shows where we’re doing a lot of healing work. Since Aries is a archetypically masculine sign, we’re entering a period of time — until 2026–2027 — where we’re doing personal and collective work on healing the masculine archetype.

Aries

March 21–April 19

Aries Glyph

Happy birthday, Aries! We’ve got A LOT to talk about. Maybe you want to make a cup of coffee or some tea? … Okay? Ready? Let’s start with the big picture. Think back to 2011. I know, it a long time ago, but if you do think back, you’ll likely recognize that you’re not the same person you were then. Perhaps even night and day different. 2011 was the year that the planet Uranus arrived in Aries for a seven year stint. During this time, you had to reinvent yourself. Your life got shaken up in numerous ways. You had breakdowns and breakthroughs. You experienced a revolution. So here we are, right on the cusp of Uranus leaving Aries and this month many bring a bit of a “what have you learned?” moment. When a planet prepares to leave a sign, it gives a report card of sorts and since Uranus is the planet of consciousness and liberation, it’s time for you to demonstrate that you’ve really discovered and awakened the real you. I know, this is all a bit existential, but you’ve had a lot of growing up to do in the last seven years. Speaking of growing up, you start April with Mars joined up with Saturn in the highest reaches of your chart. Doesn’t matter how old you are, with Saturn calling the shots this month, you’re working hard to achieve, take on more responsibility, and show Saturn that you’re ready to take life to the next level. Career is likely a focus during this time as career is a place where we define our place in the world. You may be thinking seriously about your direction, too. Relationships are also an area getting a lot of attention this month. Although the full moon is right before the start of April, it lights up your relationship sign of Libra. As a result, you may have a serious decision to make about partner. This could even include you and a mate making a milestone in your relationship such as a commitment or taking on new responsibilities in each other lives. If you’re single, maybe you’re feeling pressure to figure out what you want in a mate with an eye on something that is for the long term. Then there’s the Aries New Moon on April 15. While a new moon in your sign gives you a personal reset that trickles out through the year, this one will be conjunct Uranus. Remember that guy? Yeah, get ready to make some big changes in this birthday year. But, don’t forget, you’re under the careful watch of Saturn this month. Whatever changes you make need to be on the responsible and mature side. Plus, there’s no cutting corners, no rushing, no easy wins. With that in mind, think long term this month, like, where do you want to be in a year? Five years? Ten years? That’s the sort of time scale that Saturn is working with. Lastly, and this one really needs its own column to fully unpack, Chiron will arrive in Aries on April 17. Chiron works on a more existential, esoteric level. But the key is that over the coming years, you’ll have to take at the knots in your life — you know, the psychic knots and tears in the fabric of your life. In short, you’re entering a time of profound healing. So much has changed already with Uranus in Aries that Chiron is going to help you smooth out the kinks into the next decade. Taurus

April 20–May 20

Taurus Glyph

Taurus, we’ve got so much to talk about. Like, for reals. First, let’s set the stage a little. April is the time in your calendar when you come to the end of your personal year. It’s a time to wind down, pull back, and reflect on the previous twelve months. Now here’s the thing. You’ve likely been feeling some rumbles lately. You know, that creeping feeling that a lot’s about to change. In fact, eclipse season — late January into mid February — likely gave you an inkling which way the winds are shifting. I know, Taurus, you’re not a sign known for its flexibility. You like your change in steady, even drips, thankyouverymuch. But come May 15, Uranus, the planet of awakenings and transformation, will arrive in Taurus for a seven year stay. Yes, seven years. And that’s seven years of reinventing yourself. Seven years of getting to the heart of who you are. Seven years of stripping away of what’s not authentic. As you get closer to May, you may feel anxious or even restless, your dreams more vivid or active than usual. Thankfully, as I mentioned earlier, it’s a month to lay low and rest. It’s also a month to focus on your health both physically and spiritually. A full moon kicks of April, lighting up Libra, your sign of health and wellness. Since you’re on the edge of life changes, you may be thinking about making a change to your diet and nutrition in a way that supports this change. (I know you have a sweet tooth, Taurus.) And with Saturn calling a lot of the shots in this full moon, you may need a reality check in how you think of yourself and how you see the world. Sometimes to make changes you have to have faith that there’s something better for you on the other side of these changes, breaking out of negative or limiting mindset. Keep this in mind as you come up to the new moon on April 15. Sometimes we have a lot of baggage that we don’t even realize that we’re hanging onto. And as you come up to this new chapter, it’s time to be more aware of what you don’t want to come with you into your next life — what can’t come with you even if it’s you. By the end of the month the narrative starts to move toward money and material stability. Make sure you reconnect with solid ground and the things that make you feel safe and secure. Take care of your physical body because you’re about to be reborn. More on this in next month’s horoscopes. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Gemini

May 21–June 20

Gemini Glyph

Who are your friends? Where do you belong? What’s your community? It may be Aries Season, a time in your personal calendar when you normally reach out to your social circle and think about the bigger picture, but the astrology of April will likely be pressing on some finer pain points. Or, at the very list, digging up a lot of deeper emotional threads. There’s a narrative happening in the sky this month, one that connects this notion of belonging to emotional insecurities around trust, power, and control. You may even be dealing with this very issue — can I trust a friend? April touches on a bigger story though, one that has been happening since December, the month that Saturn changed signs and put you on a path toward diving into your deepest self. Over the coming two years (yes, two years, until the end of 2020), you’ll be doing a lot of emotional heavy lifting. What does this mean? It means working on your psyche, your personal demons, your shadow, your fears, your sexuality, as well as anything you’ve tried to bury or suppress. So, this month may be pushing you towards actively working on your emotions either through therapy, personal development, or talking with a trusted confident. Mind you, you may be feeling a bit triggered, so it may take you a little to feel safe enough to open up. As I mentioned earlier, it’s Aries Season and you may be reaching out to friends or spending time with different networks or groups. Plus, a full moon just before the start of April puts your identity in the spotlight. As you contemplate your place in the grander scheme of things this month, you’re also taking a deep look at who you are. Don’t forget, Mercury is retrograde the first half of the month, so whatever is brewing make take until the second half of April to fully play out. The new moon on April 15 will give you a chance to make a break, to reinvent your social circle, your friendships, your community, or even your vision for the future. For as emo as you may be this month, at least you have Venus’s arrival in Gemini to look forward to on April 24. In Gemini, Venus is flirty as well as a social charmer. Use Venus’s wit and diplomacy to negotiate any power struggles as you come to the end of the month. Plus, by then, you’ll be turning toward matters of health and wellness, both physical health and spiritual health. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Cancer

June 21–July 22

Cancer Glyph

Hold on, Cancer. April going to be a bit of a bumpy ride. It looks like all the major corners of your life have something big going on this month — from home and family to career and relationships. First, let’s take a few steps back. On one hand it’s Aries Season, a time in your personal calendar when the Sun travels through your career sign. Aries represents the highest point in your wheel of life, the place you reach toward and aspire. It’s what you’re working to achieve and where life will demand responsibility from you. As a result, this is the time of year when you’re focusing on making things happen in your career. You may be looking to make a job change or taking the next big step in your profession. Keep in mind that you’re coming out of a seven year (!) chapter of reinventing your professional life. There’s been a lot of ups and downs and left turns on the career front since about 2011. So you may feel like April is bringing something to a close or showing you the result of all the exhaustive (and sometimes crazy) work you’ve been doing over the last seven years. Then there’s the full moon on March 31. While just outside of April’s astrology, it very much sets the tone for the month, putting a major emphasis on home, family, and roots. You may be moving, you may be making a big change in the home, you may be welcoming an addition to your family, or you may be taking on more responsibility in the home, especially if you have a romantic partner. But it’s really a time to focus on your roots and what you need to really feel safe and secure in your life. If you’re single, does that mean having a serious partnership? The full moon will stir things up on the relationship front. And, if you’re already in a relationship, you may be having a conversation with your partner about next steps. See, you’re already in a two year chapter designed to get you to strengthen your relationships and take them more seriously … or let them go if they’ve run their course. This full moon will be a check in on your progress. What’s not easy is that you not only have Saturn in your relationship sign, but you have Mars and Pluto, too. Relationships are probably not an easy area right now because in addition to the restructuring you’re having to do, you’re having to deal with deep psychic and emotional issues, too. Relationships are often a mirror for the things we don’t want to look at within ourselves. Pay attention to what’s coming up for you this month within a partnership and how it mirrors something deeper within yourself. Then on April 15 a new moon will set forth a new beginning in your career. As I mentioned earlier, this is an area of your life that has already undergone major changes. What’s one more professional reinvention? One more change in how the world sees you? One more change in title or direction? Lastly, on April 17 Chiron will enter Aries for an extended stay. While a more esoteric influence, it’s setting a story in motion that will play out over the next nine years and that story is about unraveling all the ways in which you sell yourself short and hold yourself back in the world. This may seem a little abstract at the moment, but we’ll be talking more about this in the months and years to come. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Career, professional life, outer world, responsibilities, title, status, reputation, achievement, direction, recognition, home, family, roots, parents, emotional needs, stability, relationships, partners, other people, social interaction, responsibility in a relationship, commitment, coupling, uncoupling, friendships, social network, social circle, community, groups, looking ahead, the future, aspirations, hopes, wishes.

Leo

July 23–August 22

Leo Glyph

Leo, we have a lot to talk about. Much like your fixed sign brethren — your Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius folk — the wheel of your life has been spinning of late. We’re only a couple months past the eclipses, twin forces that likely sent your life in a new direction around the start of February. But hold on, the wheel of life is going to spin much more. First, let’s talk some basic astrology. Aries Season is the time in your personal calendar when you turn toward travel. Maybe you’re looking to book a trip to a distant country or you’re setting your sights on different cultures, philosophies, and ways of seeing the world. It’s also a time when your education is a natural priority, so classes and school may factor in as well. That said, with the energy pointing over to Capricorn, you’re getting a push to get back to reality and get a handle on your schedule, your to-do list, and even your health. Could it be that you need a new philosophy in how you take care of your body as well as what you feed it? Could it be that you need to face workaholic tendencies or negative relationships with work? While you ponder alternative therapies and shaking up your daily life, let’s look at the big picture, the not-so-basic side of what’s going on in the sky. Leo, your life is changing. I know this may sound a little dramatic, but I think you’re already feeling it, restlessly sensing something on the horizon. See, come May 15, the planet Uranus will arrive in Taurus, your career sign, and will kick of a seven year chapter of reinventing your professional life. This is a big deal and I’ve been dropping little bits here and there about this in previous horoscopes. Your career or your direction may no longer fit you anymore. And, let’s face it, there’s probably a part of you that secretly wants to run away and join the circus. (Hey, anything is possible during a Uranus transit.) But in all seriousness, Uranus is a planet that demands authenticity. It abhors safe; it dislikes stagnation. It’s going to really push you to think about what you want to be doing in your life; it’s going to make you reconsider your professional priorities, your direction, and even the responsibilities you carry. (Running away to the circus is looking not too bad now, right?) So, something for you to ponder over the coming months — what’s the most radical thing you can imagine yourself doing? The middle of April may have you thinking all sorts of wild ideas. Thankfully Mercury is retrograde for the first half of the month, blessedly pumping the breaks before you actually do join the circus. Another thing that’s saving you right now is Mars and Saturn’s push to get you to tend to your body as well as your emotional and physical health. Don’t forget to breath. Don’t forget to get enough rest and eat healthily. And if you feel yourself overwhelmed, this is a perfect month to hit the gym. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Virgo

August 23–September 22

Virgo Glyph

Virgo, where are you your own worst enemy? How do you sabotage? We all have a shadow and April is your shadow season, a time to naturally dig into your deep self. Virgo has a tendency to sabotage through criticism and perfectionism, but maybe it’s different for you. Don’t shy away from the work in April. While the emotional digging may be uncomfortable at times, you’re really being held by Saturn to work on yourself. In fact, you’re in a two year chapter, courtesy of Saturn, of defining who you are and taking your talents as well as yourself seriously. And taking yourself seriously means working through all the ways you keep yourself from being your best you. Plus, Mercury is retrograde for the first couple of weeks of April. Embrace the vulnerability, the intimacy, and the real you. That said, this is also a time to look at money, value, and material stability. A full moon will kick off April, highlighting the income, the things you own, and what you need in order to have your material needs met. You may have a decision to make about spending as well as the money you make. With the energy of the full moon pointing toward Capricorn, it’s time to think seriously about what you want to create in life. What is going to take? How much money is it going to take? Is it worth it? Are you worth it? Mercury turning direct on April 15 the same day as a new moon may bring a little bit of a jolt. Hang on and go with the flow, Virgo. I know you want everything to be according to plan, but the astrology of April and May is about shaking up that plan or, at the very least, shaking your awareness so you can make new and serious choices about the direction your life is headed. By the end of the month the narrative will start to shift toward education and career — specifically, getting the training or higher education you need in order to move your career and ambitions forward. Actually education as well as philosophy, beliefs, and travel are areas getting a big shift come May 15. For the next seven years (!) you’ll be reinventing your personal philosophy, shaking up how you see the world, finding powerful inspiration through foreign travel or other cultures, and seeking new awareness of yourself and what you believe to be true. YOLO, Virgo. Get out of your way because change is on the horizon. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Libra

September 23–October 22

Libra Glyph

This is a bit of a month for you, Libra. Then again, you probably were already feeling the pressure before the start of April. What’s going on? Well, back in December, Saturn moved into the bottom of your chart. The bottom is, as you can imagine, is your foundation, your roots, it’s what everything in your life rests upon. In short, it’s one of the most important points in your chart. Saturn is saying, hey, you better start taking your foundation seriously. So you’re getting a lot of pressure to establish yourself in life. And if you’re older and you’ve already established yourself, then what will you find when you go back inspect your core? Is it holding up or do you need to make changes? As a result you may have you may be thinking of making a big move. You may be taking on more family responsibility. You may even be a new parent or find yourself taking care of your parents. March really turned the heat up on this new era, forcing you to make some serious decisions on the homefront. Now it’s April and the month kicks off with a Libra Full Moon, putting you into spotlight as well as themes around intimacy, power, fears, secrets, and even sexuality. The full moon will also touch on this tension that has been putting between your relationships and your need for a stable footing. Are you and a mate on the same page? Do you have two different ways of seeing the world? With Mars and Saturn provoking the full moon, you may have something major to resolve. If you’re single, this is a time of year when you naturally turn towards other people and, if you’re seeking a partner, reach out for meaningful connection. Again, Saturn’s put a bit of a serious angle on your life, so you may need to take a hard look at what you want out of a relationship. Plus, Mercury is retrograde for the first half of April, so this is a time to look back on old relationships, tie up loose ends, and see how the past informs the present. When Mercury turns direct on April 15, it will do so on the same day as a new moon in your relationship sign of Aries. Do keep in mind that relationships is an area you’ve been doing a lot of personal evolution on over the last seven years. April as well as early May could bring a sort of, “what did you learn?” moment. The new moon, however, may lurch your life forward in unexpected ways courtesy of the planet Uranus. It’s a restless new moon, one that presses on a lot of deep emotional material, one that says that in order to move forward you have to look at the past as well as some of the things that have been stirring in your emotional core this year. It’s important not to avoid the emotional work this month. Have the courage to face whatever is coming up. Work it out with a trusted confidant or a therapist. As you go into Taurus Season, you’ll be diving deep into these themes around intimacy and trust. It will also be a good time to take a look at the role of finance and material stability, making changes in how you earn a living so you can create a stronger foundation for yourself — and possibly for yourself and a partner. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Roots, foundation, home, family, living situation, moving, parents, responsibilities in the home, emotional needs, emotional needs, relationships, other people, partners, commitment, next level, maturity, interpersonal connection, the deep self, the psyche, the shadow self, intimacy, vulnerability, secrets, money, income, resources, assets, finance, wealth, debt, taxes, security, benefits, estates, legacies, shared resources.

Scorpio

October 23–November 21

Scorpio Glyph

Scorpio, let’s talk big picture. And I mean biiiig picture. Think back to 2008. What’s changed? That was the year that Pluto — a very slow moving planet, like a slow moving hand on a clock — moved into the sign of Capricorn. That started a sixteen (!) year story of completely changing how you communicate and how you think and learn. This may strike you as an abstract point, but it ties in with the astrology of late so bear with me. Fast forward to this past December, the month when Saturn arrived in Capricorn, too. Whatever started back in 2008 is now, courtesy of Saturn, a top priority. Which is to say, you have to get serious about what you have to communicate. Scorpio has a tendency to keep things close to the vest. It observes instead of speaking, it calculates instead of acting. Nevertheless, this is an era where you have to not only find your voice, but find the power in your voice. Scorpio can always go two ways — towards the light or towards the dark. So, with Saturn in Capricorn and, as of March, Mars in Capricorn, you have to really be in your integrity. April, in many ways, is a big check in on all the progress you’ve been making since 2008. When Mars meets up with Saturn on April 2, you’re starting a new two year cycle of work around the voice. This even includes education, from workshops and classes, to writing projects. Having painted that larger portrait, let’s look at the rest of this month’s astrology. Aries Season is a time in your personal calendar to look at health, wellness, diet, and how you take care of your body. It’s also a time to grind into the details of daily living such as organizing your schedule and getting life all tidied and sorted. But with Mercury retrograding through Aries, you may have to take a second look at health, what you eat, as well as how you take care of it. It may also be a time to return to a project, one that touches on this bigger story in your life around voice. But as much as April is about physical health it’s also about spiritual health. A full moon on March 31, just before the start of the month, will point you inward and into the realm of dreams, meditation, rest, retreat, and recuperation. It’s also a time to let go, something that may touch on relationships as well. And relationships are another area getting a lot of play this month, all in preparation of May’s big transition of Uranus into Taurus. (I’m getting a little ahead of myself, hang on.) With Venus in Taurus for much of April, this is a natural time to reach out to others, make connections, and even find partnership. If you’re already in a partnership, it’s a time for you to naturally reconnect and strengthen the bond. Buuuut, as I mentioned, there’s a big shift on the horizon for relationships. Come May 15, when Uranus arrives in Taurus for a seven (!) year journey, you’re going to be reinventing how you do relationships — how you interact, how you socialize, how you partner, and how you compromise. For a sign so aligned with the forces of change, Scorpio, you secretly don’t like it very much. But get ready for all things in life much change. And if there was a sign who knows that, it’s you, Scorpio. Speaking of change, the new moon on April 15 will light a fire, motivating you to potentially make powerful changes in your health, diet, and work. In fact, your health and diet is probably quite different than it was in 2011 owing to a long term visit from Uranus. The new moon will be one last push before Uranus leaves this part of your chart in May. Lastly, a Scorpio Full Moon on April 29 will put you and your voice in the spotlight. Again, don’t shy away from what you have to say so long as it’s in its truth and integrity. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, routine, daily life, schedule, organization, projects, service, work, voice, communication, thinking, writing, speaking, learning, classes, workshops, travel, trips, movement, transportation, choices, maturity, integrity, responsibility, cause and effect, boundaries, limits, rest, retreat, going within, letting go, spiritual health, spirituality, recuperation, you, the self, instinct, new beginnings.

Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

What’s the value of your talent? Your hard work? Since December, you’ve been in a new chapter to really define your worth. This, of course, extends to your wallet, from how you make your money to what you spend it on as much as it comes from that intangible sense of personal value. But, in the grand scheme of things, worth is something that comes from within and Saturn has been really pushing you hard to figure this part of your life out. April is a month that is driving this point home and, in many ways, marking this new chapter that you’ve been in. And you may have money matters on your mind as you arrive in April. But, first, a full moon will kick things off by lighting up your chart’s sector of social connection. You may have a decision to make about a friendship or an alliance, one that touches on April’s themes of value and self worth. One of the things about Saturn’s influence is that it really draws a line at what’s working and not working. Another thing that may come up as you start the month is, what do you want your future to look like? Not only is it time to have a clear vision, but it’s time to start laying a solid foundation. (Keep in mind that most of 2018 is like a pregnancy for you. A lot is happening behind the scenes, but you may find that it’s not until November that things really start to pop, so to speak.) So, as much as April is hustle time for you, it’s also a time for you to really step into yourself and express your creativity and express who you are. In fact, this is an area you’ve been doing a lot of work in over the last seven (!) years. You’ve been reinventing who you are and, hopefully, really opening up your confidence to express who you truly are. Can you even recognize the person you were back in 2010-2011? So April is like a check in with this process of evolution and personal transformation. The new moon on April 15 will give you one last push to breakthrough any old patterns around self worth, anything that limits you being your best you. But, first, you’ll have to confront what’s holding you back, even if it’s yourself. The full moon at the end of the month, on April 29, will be the perfect time to do so. Lastly, there are some big cosmic shifts on tap for next month when the planet Uranus changes signs on May 15. Capricorn

December 22–January 19

Capricorn Glyph

Capricorn, how are you feeling? Like the pressure is full-on? True, you have Mars in Capricorn all month long to help you move forward. But you also have Saturn in Capricorn, a long term influence that’s pushing you to take command of your life and hold yourself to a higher standard. So, yeah, pressure. And the month kicks off with a full moon lighting up your career sign of Libra. As a result, you may be looking to take some powerful steps forward in your professional life, from starting a new job to defining the direction you want to take your ambitions in. But as much as you’re feeling a call to do the adult thing this April, it’s also a natural time in your calendar to seek out home and family. Aries forms the foundation of your chart and Aries Season is when you return to what feeds and sustains you. You also may find that emotions are spilling over and tempers flaring. When we’re upset, it’s often because we’re not getting what we need. There may be moments this month when an infantile rage or an old feel overwhelms you. The important thing is to release it in a healthy way. These are the emotions, feelings, and memories that you don’t need to hold onto any longer. They don’t need to sustain you anymore. Instead, seek out something new to feed and anchor you. Reconnect with loved ones. Because the more you have a solid foundation, the more you can build and reach for the ambitions that Saturn in Capricorn is and will be asking of you for the next two years. The new moon on April 15 could potentially give you a powerful break through. And it’s important to note that home, family, and roots has been an area you’ve been doing a lot of work on over the last seven years as you liberate yourself from the past. (Actually, your whole life has likely turned upside down and around over the last ten years. On a big picture level, you’re being asked by the cosmos to transform into a new person. No big deal, right?) Anyway, think of April giving you one last push on the homefront. A couple of days later, on April 17, Saturn will turn retrograde in Capricorn. Pay attention to what is being asked of you on this day. It may be something that’s playing out for you for the rest of the year. By the end of the month, the narrative will start to shift towards this notion of how you express who you are — identity, persona, creativity. With everything that’s going on in April, it’s a question of how seriously you’re taking yourself, how seriously you’re taking your talents, your power, your authority. Even if you’re ready to push forward this month, don’t forget to go back and review your plans for the future and make adjustments accordingly. Aquarius

January 20–February 18

Aquarius Glyph

Aquarius, we’ve got a lot of things to cover. We’ll start small and work our way up in scale. The first thing to know is that April is Aries Season, the time in your personal calendar when the sun shines on the mind, from how you think and learn to how you communicate. It’s also a month focused on travel and moment, so this tends to be a busy season for you with trips planned or appointments that take around around time. Keep in mind that Mercury is retrograde for half the month, so communication and travel in the spotlight, things may not go according to plan. For sanity’s sake, give yourself extra time and double check information. Even with Mercury Retrograde, there may be a strong pull for you to book travel around the start of April, especially travel that takes you long distances or to foreign lands. If you can’t travel, you may be looking at classes or workshops as an alternative way to stretch your wings. But, the most important takeaway from this month is to slow down. This isn’t a Mercury Retrograde to rush. Speaking of not rushing, the second thing you need to know is that a lot of this month’s energy is pointing back to a quiet, retreat-like part of your chart called the 12th House. Again, not a time to rush because you’re actively being pushed to slow down, which could include sleeping more, recuperating, or even meditating. With April’s emphasis on communication, you may find your intuition kicking up more, so pay attention to gut feelings as well as your dreams. That said, there’s a lot this month that’s pointing toward letting go. You’re in a three year chapter where you’re coming to the end of a long journey. This chapter began in December 2017 and will take you all the way to December 2020. During this time you’re going within the find answers to powerful questions. What is the meaning of life? What is the meaning to my life? What’s going to bring me deeper connection? And April is really digging into this existential crisis. Finally, there’s a big shift in May to be aware of. You’re likely already feeling it, a restless sense that something may be changing. Uranus, the planet of awakenings and transformations, will arrive in Taurus on May 15. Taurus just so happens to be the bottom of your chart, the foundation. So you’re entering a seven (!) year chapter of reinventing your roots. This could literally mean making a big or drastic move over the coming years or, on a more abstract level, redefining emotional connection as well as the things you instinctively feed yourself with. Uranus wants you to have a foundation that is authentic to who you really are — not your family, not your ancestors, and certainly not the past. More on that in next month’s update, but it’s important to know that things are changing for you, Aquarius, and the wheel of life is spinning in a new direction. Pisces

February 19–March 20

Pisces Glyph

Pisces, as the last sign of the zodiac, you represent a synthesis of all the eleven signs before you. You have an understanding and completeness about the world that others do not. Plus, you’re known for your deep sensitivities. Keep this in mind as you arrive in April, a month that will shake up the psychic landscape, something you’ll likely feel in ways that only you can. Just make sure you’re taking care of yourself because you may feel some old emotional issues come up as you’re forced to contend with deeper issues around self worth, community, and friendships. That said, it’s worth mentioning that Aries Season is a time in your personal calendar to find the ground beneath your feet. It’s a time for stability as well as a look at your financial resources. Of course, the material world is something that can provide a sense of equilibrium in a month that’s a bit up and down. But here’s the thing. When we zoom out over the last seven years of your life, your material world has been anything but stable. The planet Uranus has been a long term planetary visitor to this area of your chart and it’s been shaking up your consciousness about money, value, and what you really need to be stable and secure. It probably hasn’t been easy because, again, you’re an emotionally driven sign, but hopefully as you come to the end of this seven year chapter, you have a powerful sense of what things are worth and, more importantly, what you’re worth. Think of Aries Season as a final check in on this process. You’ve learned to make money in different ways, you have a whole new relationship with the things that you own. As April begins, a full moon will kick things off by putting your financial life in the spotlight. You have have a decision to make about wealth, loans, debt, and taxes. How much money do you need for the future? How will you create the wealth you need to support your dreams? Two weeks later, on April 15, a new moon will again ask you to redefine and transform your relationship with money and what you own, forcing you to get real with your life. If something is not working, how do you get back in line with the master plan? As much as you’re dealing with earthly matters this month, it’s important to note that starting in May, you’ll be entering a new seven year chapter where you’re reinventing how you communicate. You’ve always been a bit psychic, Pisces, but this will likely open your intuitive abilities a lot more. And it’s possible that you’re already feeling it, this static in the air, this flicker of knowing that comes in like a download. But as your mind shakes awake, it’s important to take care of your physical body. In order for you to be fully connected to invisible realms, you need to be fully connected to your body — something that can be hard for Pisces if we’re being honest. April will be a clarion for this new era. Take care of your physical life, nurture your body, and be fully connected to the earth. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you?
