Happy Full Moon in Virgo! This is the time of the year when we are forced to “make it work.” Virgo is the sign that teaches us service, wellness, purity, organization, and the sort of precision and attention to detail that helps us develop craft. The full moon is exact on 2/25/2013 at 3:26 pm and the seeds that we planted back in September 2012 with the Virgo New Moon have now come to fruition.

The Virgo/Pisces axis encompasses many dualities — the healer versus the mystic, the servant of the practical versus the spiritual. This is the lunation that is challenging us to really see things for what they are, sorting the doable from the pipe dream. This lunation is also about sobriety — hate to be a buzzkill here — because we’re practically oozing Neptune out of our pores like a distillery. I mean look at all the planets bunched up in Pisces? Neptune, Sun, Chiron, Mars, and Mercury? And here comes the Virgo Moon, wagging a finger, and telling us to clean up our act. Yes, mam.

There’s an overwhelming amount of tension with this full moon. Virgo says make it real, make it workable, but it’s hard to do when we’re off in Pisces La La Land with a square to overindulgent Jupiter. Oh yes, those dreams and fancies of imagination are all great, but there comes a time when we have to bring it into reality. You’ve probably worked with someone like this before, the person who’s all ideas and no real sense of how to implement them. So this full moon is an invitation to pull our head out of the clouds and translate the visions of Pisces into the pragmatic reality of Virgo.

But for all of Virgo’s discernment and love of order, there is a distinct healing vibe with this full moon. Virgo Moon opposite Sun/Chiron is like a lance to an old spiritual wound. A trine to Pluto in Capricorn gives us the power to go deep with the quincunx from Uranus telling us that the healing make come from an unexpected or even awkward source. A trine from Saturn gives us some much needed stability as we navigate turbulent emotional waters. Mercury stationing retrograde means that there could be a bit of review on tap for how we articulate our dreams and our deepest feelings.

So get clean and get real. You aim for the stars all you want, but even the biggest ideas need a dose of practical. Roll up your sleeves and get to work. Allow yourself to purge and detox with this full moon, letting the fullness of its light illuminate what needs to be released. Allow your deepest wounds to be triggered so that Virgo can deliver the much needed medicine.
