Happy Virgo Full Moon! This is the time of the year when we make decisions about our health and diet as well as turn the spotlight on projects, craft, acts of service, purity, healing, and day-to-day life. Virgo is a bit of an undervalued sign, but if you want something done and done right, give it to a Virgo. It’s a sign that shows us the necessity behind an attention to detail and a rigorous schedule. In short, Virgo will push us all to get organized! The full moon will arrive on March 5, 2015 at 1:05 pm EST, 14 degrees Virgo/Pisces. For those in other parts of the world, that’s 6:05 pm London, 10:05 am Los Angeles, 5:05 am Sydney 3/6.

In many ways the Virgo Full Moon will mark a shift in the astrological winds. Over the last few years there’s been a great deal of focus on the cardinal signs, which are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Cardinal signs initiate change and new beginnings. But starting on March 20, 2015, the eclipses will shift into Pisces and Virgo for the next year and a half. Jupiter will arrive in Virgo in August as well, so the second half of 2015 will highlight healing, service, nutrition, ritual, and our spiritual lives — just as we’re starting to downshift out of the Uranus/Pluto square. With that in mind, how will this full moon be a preview of where we’re headed collectively?

We’ve been through a lot the last few years. Saturn in Scorpio took us to the brink and the Uranus/Pluto square pushed our lives into very different territory. It’s safe to say that our faith has been rattled and we may even be having a full blown existential crisis. Like a ship limping into port after a storm in need of repairs, we need help — body, mind, and soul.

Virgo reminds us to take care of ourselves, from the food that nourishes us to the medicine that heals when we’re sick. Virgo is no-nonsense TLC. On the other end of the spectrum is Pisces, reminding us that we’re not just our physical bodies, but spirits in need of nurturing as well. The coming days will be a call to heal. Make an appointment with a healthcare provider. Get acupuncture. See a nutritionist. Meditate and make time for your spiritual life. Get energy work. Have a heart-to-heart talk with god, source, the goddess, your highest guidance — whatever you connect to.

With the full moon activating Chiron, healing is an imperative. Chiron speaks to some of our deepest material, the sort of emotions and experiences that cross many lifetimes. If this full moon acts as a trigger, take a moment and examine where the feelings are coming from. How can you heal? What sort of rituals can you employ? With Pluto playing a supportive role in this full moon, there’s a lot of power helping us transform.

Carpe diem.
