Today we have a Full Moon in Taurus. This is the time of the astrological year when we release our intentions for security, solid ground, and abundance of resources. The Full Moon is occurring at 6’48 degrees Taurus/Scorpio.
It’s interesting that one of the keywords for Taurus is security. As I write this, a hurricane barrels down on the east coast of the United Sates. And the Taurus/Scorpio axis is one of safety versus the unknown, solid ground versus the watery emotional depths. The light of this Full Moon reveals our deepest shadow material and it’s important to realize that the mega-storm churning in the Atlantic is merely physical representation of our emotional state. Are we in harm’s way or on solid ground? Are we protected? Are we safe? Or will we be overcome by a wave of emotions we can no longer suppress?
As an evolutionary process, Scorpio represents experiences — especially emotional experiences — that challenge our safety and our comfort zone. This process takes on added weight with Saturn in Scorpio. The Full Moon opposition with Saturn triggers our emotional need for security (Moon in Taurus) as it directly comes up against authority figures or deep lessons in intimacy (Sun/Saturn in Scorpio).
We had a break in the intensity with the Libra New Moon two weeks ago. But now we’re back in full effect as a strong Venus in Libra creates a cardinal t-square with Uranus/Pluto. Venus is the disposer of the Moon in Taurus and if you thought we were already churning the depths of Scorpio with the Sun/Saturn conjunction, prepare to go deeper. Moon/Pluto trine, Venus square Pluto. Get ready to purge.
And intuitively that’s what I’ve felt over the last week — we’re in this deep process of release. I know you’re like, how on earth can I purge more? (What, you thought 2012 and the end of a 26,000 year cycle would be a breeze??) The key here is the realize just how much we’ve been carrying over lifetimes and through our ancestral lines. All that stuff has to go. And here comes Hurricane Sandy to wash away the old, baptizing us in chaos.
If you look at the attached chart, there are so many exact or near exact aspects. Wow! Sun in Scorpio trine Chiron in Pisces? This Full Moon opens a powerful portal of healing. Mars in Sag opposite Jupiter in Gemini? Mercury in Sag square Neptune in Pisces? What is your truth? How is is obscured? How do you lie to yourself? To others? And when you’ve stripped everything away, whether through your own insight or through hurricane force winds and tidal surges, what really remains? What are you willing to let go of? Are you ready to surrender? Yes, human, there are so many things out of your control right now. Stop fighting and let the healing begin.
