Happy Taurus Full Moon! This is time of year when we shine a spotlight on value, loyalty, money, the material, fertility, and even pleasure. Full moons are decision points and we may be confronted with themes of security and stability in the days following. The full moon will be exact on October 27, 2015 at 8:05 am EDT, 3 degrees Taurus/Scorpio. That’s 5:05 am Los Angeles, 1:05 pm London, 11:05 pm Sydney time.
Marking the midway point in an already rocky month energetically, the full moon represents the culmination of energies seeded by the Libra New Moon on October 12. Full moons are revelations, a time when we see things for what they are in the light of the moon. Often we are spurred to take action. There’s a sense of drama and heightened emotion.
Taurus is an earth sign. It likes to take things slow, graze, and get comfortable. So all this full moon drama has a bit of a softer edge to it. But it’s still a full moon and we still have a decision to make. Are we safe? Are we on solid ground? What’s going to bring stability into our lives? Do we have the resources we need? Shelter? Income? After the tense energies of the Libra New Moon, this is our moment to catch our breath and find better footing.
There’s a lot going on in this full moon chart. Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is over with Jupiter and Mars, getting work done in Virgo. She’s caught in the middle, though, pinned in between the planet of action and the planet of growth and faith. Whatever happens around this full moon, we don’t have a lot of wiggle room. We may feel trapped between two forces.
Further, Venus is exactly opposite Chiron. We’re untangling psychic knots around service, devotion, feeling cast aside, abandoned, and sacrifice around something greater than ourselves. In fact, the energies of Chiron have been really heightened now that we’re in Scorpio season. Whatever comes up for you with this full moon will touch poignantly on deep karmic themes. Chiron’s job is to remind you where there’s work to be done, where there’s an emotional and energetic inheritance, where there are rips and tears in the fabric of our life.
If we rework the threads, lovingly so, surely we’ll have the stability and security that Taurus demands.
