Welcome to Libra Season! This is the time in the zodiac calendar when the Sun shines on how we relate to others. For that Libra is relationships, partners, consensus, and socializing. Ruled by Venus, Libra is also the sign that teaches us about beauty and harmony.

When the Sun arrives in the seventh sign of the zodiac, we’re halfway through the astrological year. We’re also leaving signs that deal with the personal and our internal world and stepping into the external. It’s no longer about us; it’s about how we interface with others as well as the world around us.

In astrology, Libra is often pegged as the sign of relationships. But, at its core, Libra is a sign that is instinctively drawn to connect. It needs to socialize and pair. It’s an air sign too, the element that needs to move, interact, and network. So, when the Sun is in Libra, as it will be until October 23, we’ll naturally be drawn to understanding who we are through our experiences with others. Venus will be in Virgo for most of Libra Season, too, which means that we need to work on our relationships.

In other news, Mars will oppose Neptune into this weekend. Translation? We may feel tired and spacey, especially if we’re an Aries or Scorpio. This energy is better for mediation and reflection, for bringing our actions and will into harmony with the Divine. Neptune, as a transpersonal planet, helps us open up to things and forces beyond our physical world. Just make sure you’re doing healthy Neptune — unconditional love, recognition of the Universal in everything, compassion — and not the Neptune that likes to get lost in a haze of substance and illusion.

PS — I’m teaching a workshop in New York City on September 26 and by a webinar on September 30 titled “Facing Saturn — How to Find Maturity and Purpose at Any Age“. It’s a look at the different points in our life when we have to face Saturn. If you’re 28-30 years old, this workshop is especially for you. You’re going through the “Saturn Return,” an initiation that happens for everyone when Saturn literally returns to the spot in the sky it occupied at the moment you were born after 29 long years.

If you’re in New York City, the workshop is on Tuesday, September 26 at 7 pm eastern in Manhattan for $40 USD. I’m doing a webinar version for those of you who are outside of New York on Saturday, September 30 at 2 pm eastern for $30 USD including the mp3 recording. It doesn’t matter how much astrology you know. I’ll break things down and show you how to gain a deeper understanding of what you came here to work on and achieve in your life. Email empoweringastrology@gmail.com to register. Please let me know if you’re interested in the NYC workshop or the webinar.
