True, there’s a sweet little sextile between Venus and Jupiter today, a pairing that softens tensions and promotes common vision. (The two planets are in what astrologers call “mutual reception.”) But really the dominant energy all week is Mars and its upcoming square to Uranus.

Here’s what you need to know. Ever since the Sun moved into Scorpio last Saturday, it started picking up the energy of Mars, which has been over in the sign of Capricorn. Mars is strong in Capricorn. It means business. It marries the drive and action of Mars with the ambition and maturity of Capricorn. But Mars had to make it past a hella intense Pluto conjunction on October 19 before scraping up against Uranus into Saturday. Translation? Your Scorpio season has been a little more intense than usual.

True, Scorpio is a sign that doesn’t shy away from change. But when the energy of the sign grinds through Pluto and Uranus, the transformation is deeper, more powerful, and touches the soul in a profound way. If Pluto pulls at something deep inside, then Uranus gives us the spark or push to make a break … or breakthrough.

So, if you are an Aries or a Scorpio — or Aries/Scorpio Moon or rising — you’re feeling this the most. For the rest of us, use the power of Scorpio to really face something and let it go. When we hit the Scorpio New Moon on Sunday, we’ll be able to start again.
