We had a doozy of a new moon yesterday. Falling opposite Pluto and trine Neptune — two outer planets that act as agents of consciousness and change — we’re gearing up for four weeks filled with personal and collective evolution as well as having to face something head on.

Why do we pay attention to the new and full moons? What can they tell us? They are important markers in understanding the energy and opportunities available to us over the coming four weeks — aka the lunar month. The new moon sets the container, it seeds our energetic reality.

So, a new moon in Cancer? The prism of our experiences shines through the archetype of home, family, safety, emotional security. A new moon opposite Pluto? The coming weeks will be seeded with the energy of non-negotiable transformation as well as facing our fears, our shadows, our projections so that we can transmute them with our consciousness — especially through the archetype of home, family, connection, emotions.

A full moon, on the other hands, brings everything to a culmination. What we began at the new moon has now come to term. We have a decision to make. Maybe there’s even a crisis, something we can’t avoid. The next full moon will be on July 19 at 27 degrees Capricorn.
